Wednesday, November 1, 2017 Volume 70 Number 40 It is Christmas, 1870, and Dr. Timothy Cratchit is about to set sail for a new life in Boston when he learns he has inherited a dilapidated clinic in Whitechapel from old Mr. Scrooge. Before he can leave for America, he must first do his duty as an Englishman and find a doctor to run the clinic. When none can be found, Tim has little choice but to take the job himself temporarily, of course. Or is it? Once he meets the pretty but headstrong young nurse who works there, along with the orphans in her care, Tim has to decide between the two very different futures that await him. Fairmount is gearing up once again to host our bi-annual Christmas musical, which is a huge opportunity for outreach into our community. We anticipate 5,000+ people will walk through Fairmount s doors to watch this production. We need your help! Beginning this Sunday, November 5, we will be recruiting volunteers to serve during the 8 shows spread out over the first 2 weekends in December. Sign-ups will take place in the Worship Center Lobby. God Bless Us, Every One will have performances over the weekends of December 1-3 and December 8-10 (see Page 1 for schedule). For each show, we need a total of 24 volunteers in these areas: Greeters: We will have greeters at both of our main entrances into the building to welcome our guests and direct them to the Worship Center. Ushers: We will have ushers inside the Worship Center to assist people in finding a seat and to help any of our guests who may have a handicap. Parking Attendants: We will have parking attendants to ensure that our guests have a safe entry onto our property. They will direct vehicles to parking lots in both the front and rear of the building. Welcome Center: After each show, we will have attendants at our Welcome Center who will be available to distribute information to our guests about Fairmount. Please contact Chris Santasiere (csantasiere@fairmountchristian.org) or Sherri Fadool (sfadool@fairmountchristian.org) with any questions about volunteering. The cast & crew have been hard at work preparing for this year s production. page 3 The Concert of Remembrance is a comforting, uplifting, and encouraging 45-minute service to help those who have lost loved ones cope during the Holiday Season. The service includes encouraging songs of faith and comfort presented by some of FCC s wonderful voices, a pictorial tribute to those who have passed away, and an optional fellowship time where you can view the pictorial tribute up close while you and your family and friends enjoy some refreshments. To participate in the tribute, email photos of your loved ones, along with their full name, date of birth, and date of death, no later than Nov. 13th to cbranch@fairmountchristian.org or bring a photo to the church office to be scanned and returned to you. If you have submitted photos in the past, simply call the church office and let them know to use them again for this year s presentation. If you know of a neighbor, friend, work colleague, or relative that has lost someone, please encourage them to join you for this special event.
