But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE God s OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him Who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. 1 Peter 2:9 On behalf of the faculty and staff of Boyce College, allow me the privilege of welcoming you to our campus. We are so grateful for God s leadership in your life and your willingness to spend this weekend with us. Much prayer and planning has gone into the events of this conference. Our professors, staff, and student ambassadors stand ready to meet you and answer your questions. The call of God upon your life is something serious to consider. Growing up, my pastor always remarked that the call to ministry is a call to prepare. Yet, how may you figure out if you have this calling upon your life or not? There are not any easy answers to this question. However, we hope that through this weekend s program and your seeking of the Lord s will that you might come to clear conviction that serving the church is what God has for your life. Though all Christians are called to service, Christians have always affirmed that God sets aside certain individuals for leadership among His people. You should never walk down this path without the assurance that it is God Himself who is leading you in this direction. Our sincere desire is for you to be encouraged this weekend. We hope that you enjoy all of the experiences that Boyce has to offer: a beautiful campus, a comfortable environment, and a lovely city. However, our greatest desire is for you to experience those things that are most important to your college experience. We hope that you journey home from this weekend with a sense of the presence and blessing of God upon our school, encouragement from our biblical stance, and joy at the privilege of serving such a wonderful King. Thank you again for being our guest and may the Lord richly bless you. For the glory of God, Bruce Roberts Director of Recruiting and Admissions Boyce College and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary
