Pastor s Paragraph Go I will show you in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed. Genesis 12:1-3 Be a blessing. It s the first part of the vision we have as the local church in our community, the greater Corona-Norco area. It s also the promise God made to Abram when he called him to take his family and business and to move to an unknown land. There are a couple of things that are amazing about Abram s response to God s call. First is the fact that he picked up his family, their business and began an arduous journey to a distant land. There s no evidence of any question or doubt. God called. Abram responded, completely and wholly. Abram was all in. Second is that Abram was seventy-five when we received God s call. That s well past the age when most of us are thinking about retiring, pursuing hobbies and leisure time. It tells us God calls us to commit ourselves to serving the Lord regardless of our age. Serving the Lord isn t about young adult activities or children s ministry or family ministry or Sunday school or even worship. Serving the Lord is what we do with our LIFE! All of those activities are good, but events are expressions of the way we live. When we gather on Sunday, we re expressing our gratitude and thanks to God. When we go into the community to share God s love with others, we re acting because we care. When we gather to learn more about Jesus, we re hungry and thirsty for spiritual food. That s what it means to be a blessing. God will call some of us to unknown places, far from our comfort zone. Do not be afraid. My prayer for this year is that each of you will find a way to share the blessing you have received with others. Join a ministry team and get involved as a sender or goer. You ll be glad you did. Paying it forward ~ Pastor Eric
