Children s Ministry, 2015 Developing all generations for significant lives in Christ. Asbury believes in a life-long commitment to discipleship. The Bible tells us when you train a child in the ways of God, that child will remember God s ways as he or she grows. That s why we have such a heart for children s ministry. You can be sure your children will receive Bible-based teaching from our caring staff and volunteers. But it doesn t stop there! We have discipleship opportunities available for teens and adults of all ages. Join us as we grow up in God s ways together.

Grow Consider your own management of time, money and abilities and answer these three questions. Are you guilty of wasting any of them? What do you think would count as waste in God s eyes? What purpose is being served or advanced as a result of the way you manage or steward what He s entrusted to you? Security, comfort, luxury, pride financial resources can bring all these things, but they can become idols. It might be hard to know if you ve chosen these things over God. When you get down to it, how much are your thoughts and time focused on getting or spending? You can t serve Jesus and comfort, Jesus and pride or Jesus and money. Which do you choose? The decision to give is not a checkbook decision; it s a spiritual decision. Sermon Journals On sale for $5.00 The new sermon journal is on sale TODAY. This journal covers November 25 February 9. (The sermon journal is also available on our Asbury App.) Pastor Tom believes the journal is a great tool which helps us grow daily in our faith in Christ, and we are pleased to produce it. The sermon journals will ONLY be sold at the three Guest Services desk locations: Main, South and North AND the main office (receptionist) desk on Sundays. They will be available for purchase during the week at the main office desk. November 25 December 29 December 30 February 9 Perceptions Pastor Tom s latest edition of Perceptions is available. He will be signing books in the main foyer between services today. Books are $10.00 and make great Christmas gifts. Current Sermon Series November 15: Jesus calls us to get invested in the work He is doing in the world. That is why we exist as a church and why we do the things we do. We get to give. We get to bring good news. We get to make the world better for others. By submitting the whole of our lives to the Lordship and ownership of Jesus Christ, we get to be part of His mission! There is no better way to invest ourselves or spend our lives, but Jesus makes it clear we must choose where our loyalties lie.

Influence Community Thanksgiving Service, November 23, 7:00 pm Join the larger Tulsa community in offering thanks to God for our many blessings. On Monday, November 23, 7:00 pm, Asbury will host a joint worship service with our friends from First United Methodist, First Baptist and First Presbyterian. Deron Spoo, lead pastor from First Baptist, will give a special thanksgiving message. This is the fifth time our four churches have gathered together to ask the Lord s blessing upon our city and Asbury s second time to host the event. Adopt a Christmas Child We have a wonderful opportunity to reach out to children connected to our local outreach ministry. The children have requested articles of clothing with sizes and a game or toy. If you have any questions, please contact Cathy at carneyclub@sbcglobal.net. Sunday, November 22: Cards with names will be available at the south entrance by preschool, upstairs children s area and CLC gallery. Sunday, December 6: Wrapped gifts are due back at CLC gallery. Saturday, December 12: Gifts delivered as part of 2nd Saturday.
