March 20, 2011 2 Mission Statement: St. Francis of Assisi Parish is a Christ-centered family of believers, celebrating Christ alive in our lives through the inspiration of the Gospel, church teachings and traditions and the Sacraments. We are sensitive to the spiritual and temporal needs of God s people, acknowledging their uniqueness and dignity and are dedicated to reaching out and serving them through prayer, liturgical celebrations and social ministries. Guided by the Holy Spirit and nourished by the Holy Eucharist, we welcome all people with, respect and compassion. We are vigilant in protecting the rights of the most vulnerable. In the tradition of our patron, St. Francis of Assisi, we put the good news of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ into action. March 20, 2011 3 Faith Direct Healing Mass at St. Francis In the coming weeks in the spirit of Lenten generosity we will be presenting to the parish a program of electronic giving by a company called Faith Direct. Our Pastoral Council and Finance Committee have already affirmed the need for and usefulness of such a program. There are a number of companies out there and after analyzing them all, our Diocese has endorsed Faith Direct from all perspectives legal, security and pastoral. The diocese is now urging all parishes to consider and then implement such a program as soon as is feasible. Also for new parishes signing up now, all fees for this first year are waived. There will be abundant informational literature made available to parishioners. Many of you will receive complete information and registration forms in the mail. This does not replace the envelope system but in these fast-paced times gives us another way to remain abreast of our responsibilities to our church! Many folks including seniors are now paying bills online; many have their social security checks directly deposited into their accounts. This plan is similar. An account designated by yourself is electronically sent to the Faith Direct each week and the parish is credited with these donations monthly. You get a record of your contributions. Please consider Faith Direct. Snow Removal Collection It was a tough winter! Everybody of course has been saying that but it s doubly tough and packs quite a punch when the bills come due. Please consider making a special donation to the parish in the envelope placed in the pew or in your envelope packet during the month of March. Winter is officially gone but now we have to write the checks! With your help we ll stay ahead of our bills! Jesus son of David, have pity on me Thus cried out the blind Bartimaeus. The crowd told him to be silent. But Jesus heard him and asked What do you want me to do for you? Master I want to see! Jesus said Go on your way-your faith has saved you. Mark 11: 46-52 Wednesday March 23rd 7:30pm-Praise & Music - 8:00pm Mass Our Celebrant will be Fr. Peter Kaczmarek. To be healed by Jesus we must come in expectant faith, understanding that He knows all that we need. All who ask receive according to His will. We welcome everyone to come to our Healing Mass and experience the love and peace of Jesus Our Lord Anthony Fuina Padre Pio in My Life Thursday, March 24 th 7:30pm Church Conference & Benediction Come hear Anthony Fuina s heartfelt testimony of God s Miraculous Healing Grace!

Last Year s Sunday offering: $12,100.00 Thanks for Giving First Fruits & Taking a Step!!! Bulletin Reflection Bear your share of the hardship which the gospel entails, St. Paul tells Timothy in today s second reading. What sacrifice is asked of me for the sake of the Gospel? How willing am I to bear my share? Living Stewardship We are grateful this week for all stewards in our parish who responsibly budget their time and talent as well as their financial resources. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul In the Gospel Jesus is transfigured and a voice from heaven said: this is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased: Listen too him. Do we listen to Jesus when he asks us to take care of our brothers and sisters who are suffering? Your gifts in the St. Vincent de Paul Poor Box will help the poor to celebrate the grace of God s love this Easter. Please remember to return your SNOW REMOVAL ENVELOPE!
