US Bishops Proclaim Religious Freedom Week June 22-29 Serving Others in God s Love: Religious Freedom Week 2018 is June 22-29. The week begins with the Feast of St. John Fisher and St. Thomas More, ends with the Solemnity of Ss. Peter and Paul, includes the Feast of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist. For info & many resources, visit: http://www.usccb.org/religiousfreedomweek. Serving Others in God s Love: Religious Freedom Week 2018 Day 3 - June 24 Pray That the Holy Spirit would give us the courage to bear witness to the truth of the Gospel, even in the face of social and legal pressure. Amen. Reflect All baptized Christians are called to share the joy of the gospel with others. When most of our co-workers, neighbors, and even family members don t share our faith and perhaps do not practice any faith at all, we might be timid or afraid to talk about our faith. But in a culture filled with so much junk, people are hungry for solid food. When we encounter Jesus Christ, we come to know the bread of life, the truth in which the restless hearts of our age can rest. We love our neighbors by helping them to encounter Jesus. Act As the Pope Francis teaches, The Holy Spirit also grants the courage to proclaim the newness of the Gospel with boldness (parrhesía) in every time and place, even when it meets with opposition (Evangelii gaudium, 259). Let s take this week to exercise our freedom by sharing our faith in Jesus Christ or to talk about religious freedom with others. Try it today! Fr. George will be out of the office June 28 & 29 as he attends Priest Unity Days in La Crosse. OFFICES WILL BE CLOSED JULY 2-4. No Adoration after 12:00pm on July 3 rd. No Adoration on July 4 th

[Religious] freedom remains one of America s most precious possessions. And, as my brothers, the United States Bishops, have reminded us, all are called to be vigilant, precisely as good citizens, to preserve and defend that freedom from everything that would threaten or compromise it. -Pope Francis RECEPTIONS FOR OUR PASTOR Goodbye Reception for Father George on July 1 Following 10:30am Mass at Sacred Heart Welcome Reception for Father Jazdzewski on July 8 Following 10:30am Mass at Sacred Heart Come, enjoy light refreshments and wish our Pastor well! Read-Aloud Book of Bible Stories With the confidence of a master storyteller practiced in holding the attention of even the most restless child, she weaves tales of Noah and Moses, Solomon and David, and Daniel in the lion s den. She leads young listeners to marvel at prophesies of the coming Savior, to be charmed by the gentle goodness of His boyhood, and be dazzled by the scores of miracles that proved He is the Messiah coming to save Israel and to save, as well, every little child who hears these stories! Continuing with stories about events after the Resurrection, Miss Steedman takes young readers along with Peter, Paul, and the Apostles as they carry the Good News to the ends of the Earth. Today, too many religious books for young children trivialize the story of salvation and its many tales of mystery and majesty. Age Range: 4 and up Find this book and other children s content using the search feature at FORMED.org.
