THE LIGHT of the world THE FIRST MONTH OF CHRISTMAS In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, we can sometimes lose that Christmas spirit as soon as the holiday is over. This year, we are going to focus on keeping the Christmas Spirit in our hearts and minds all year long. Each month you ll receive a gift from our family as well as a challenge that will help bring the heavenly feeling of Christmas into your home. H A P P Y N E W Y E A R!!! This month, help your inner light shine by increasing your study of the Savior s life in the scriptures. THE LIVING water THE SECOND MONTH OF CHRISTMAS If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. John 7:37-38 Seek out an attribute of Christ in the scriptures that you would like to have & try to emulate it all month.

KINDNESS to all mankind THE THIRD MONTH OF CHRISTMAS "No act of kindness is ever wasted." -Aesop Do something really sweet for someone outside of your family. WISE MEN still seek Him THE FOURTH MONTH OF CHRISTMAS And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh. - Matthew 2:11 Gold, frankincense & myrrh were given to the Christ Child by the wise man. This month, think of what gift (or act) you can offer to the Savior.

FEAST upon the word THE FIFTH MONTH OF CHRISTMAS Feast upon the words of Christ; for behold, the words of Christ will tell you all things what ye should do. 2 Nephi 32:3 Choose a favorite scripture and make a display of it to put in your home BREAD of life THE SIXTH MONTH OF CHRISTMAS And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. - John 6:35 Think of ways that you can nourish yourself better and put at least one idea into action!

CHRISTMAS in July THE SEVENTH MONTH OF CHRISTMAS Maybe Christmas, he thought... doesn't come from a store. Maybe Christmas, perhaps... means a little bit more! -How the Grinch Stole Christmas Do an act of service for someone outside youre family ATTITUDE of gratitude THE EIGHTH MONTH OF CHRISTMAS "Gratitude turns what we have into enough. " -Unknown Start filling a jar with strips of paper with things you are grateful for written on each strip. Read these papers on Thanksgiving as a family

THE GIFT of love THE NINTH MONTH OF CHRISTMAS The most important gifts you can give are your love, time and attention. Slow down, take time to smile & enjoy loved ones - Carla White Do an act of service for someone in youre family GOOD TIDINGS of comfort & joy THE TENTH MONTH OF CHRISTMAS And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. - Luke 2:10 Listen to good music that makes you happy!

THE GOOD shepherd THE ELEVENTH MONTH OF CHRISTMAS Look at the Candy Cane, what do you see? Stripes that are red like the blood he shed for me. White is for my Savior, who's sinless and pure! "J" is for Jesus, My Lord, that's for sure! Turn it around and a staff you will see- Jesus my shepherd was born for me. Read the story of Jesus' birth in Luke chapter 2 as a family WHITE STOCKING tradition THE TWELFTH MONTH OF CHRISTMAS And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. - Luke 2:10 Read the white stocking poem and then talk about gifts you can give the Savior.

WHITE STOCKING poem CAROLYN COX CANBERRA Twas the night before Christmas as I walked through the house Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. The presents had been wrapped and placed under the tree I paused, tired, excited, and then giggled with glee. The stockings were hanging and were beautifully filled No one had been forgotten, though the credit card was billed. As I looked at the scene with the stockings on the ledge. I noticed one was empty, the one on the edge. Where's the Spirit of Christmas - What have I done? The children's stockings are all full, except for this one It was the stocking intended for the child of Bethlehem. The White stocking for Jesus that was hung up by them. Of all the people at Christmas, that might be forgotten How could I not remember the Fathers Only Begotten? Only He had been left out of the festivities. As we planned and prepared all, for our families. As I pondered, I realized this just was not right! It was His birth that was being celebrated, after this night I resolved then and there to remember the Lord And quickly made changes that were easy to afford. I hung the white stocking in a special place in our home. And corrected the atmosphere to provide a more spiritual tone. On Christmas morning I gathered the family together And each of us wrote on a special piece of paper, We gave Jesus a gift which we placed in the stocking. A sincere change of heart, not there for the mocking. The white stocking hung in our home as a symbol for us Of the true meaning of Christmas - the Savior, The Lord Jesus So take your white stocking and hang it with pride Remember the Savior, put his gift inside.
