They may have such a good time that they decide to become members themselves. According to a recent survey by the Jewish Federation, there are many, many unaffiliated Jews in Chester county. We d love to contact them, but don t know who they are. You can help. Todah rabah! The President s Column Is it 5780 yet????? Shanah Tovah! It was Yom Kippur recently the Day of Atonement. We know we should, but why can we not forgive and forget? I know siblings, colleges, and spouses that are mad at each other for things that happened years ago. A lot of times we cannot even remember the root of the dispute. In some cases one of the parties even admitted they were wrong and apologized and we still cannot get over it. In our minds we keep reliving the injustice until the memory is worse then the original act. This could be your year to break the cycle and let it go. Accept the apology and focus your energy on the positive. By forgiving them you are freeing up your minds power, reducing stress, and starting off a new year fresh. Be the bigger person and focus on the positive this coming year. This year were are looking for people to raise kosher pigs for the Or Shalom seder plates. You will be required to raise a breeding pair of Jewish pigs. The pigs will arrive with a marriage Ketubah which must be hung in their stall. Prior to passover the pigs will be taken to the Or Shalom Pikvah. The Pikvah is similar to a Mikvah, but has a ramp for the pigs to get in and out of the water. Please note that this is just a joke and I like to see how many people read my articles. If you read this article please give me a fist bump the next time you see me and ask to raise some pigs. It was wonderful to see everybody at the High Holiday services. I really hope to see everybody in the coming months at Friday night and Saturday services. We cannot build a community if everybody stays home. It takes 10 to make a minyan. May you all have a sweet New Year and be inscribed in the book of life for another year, Andy HORIZONS 3 October 2018 Tishrei, 5779 Heshvan, 5779
