deacon's point of view psalm 106:1 Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. thank you lord This song is for all the people of GOD to sing. We are all encouraged to join in and praise our GOD together. Worship service is not just for a few of the saints to praise GOD while the rest of the church is silent; but all should join in. God has been good to us all. He has extended mercy to us all, therefore we all should lift up our voices with one accord and thank Him for all that He has done for us both collectively as a church and individually. We praise the Lord when we give him thanks for what we have received in the form of His goodness. Let us never be slow to return unto the Lord our praise; to thank Him is the least we can do. When we attend a worship service we shouldn t sit there like God has done nothing for us. Our minds should not wander to what we are going to eat, or what movie we want to look at, or anything other than God. God s mercy has been, and will be with us forever. Since we can never manage to totally stop sinning, it is a great blessing that God ceases not to be merciful. What would happen if God did not renew His mercies everyday? We would be a people most miserable. From the very beginning the Lord has dealt graciously with us. He has never failed to extend to us His grace, love and mercy. Therefore let us lift up our voices on one accord and say THANK YOU LORD! Yours in Christ, Deacon Chris Norwood

editors' corner Greetings my brothers and sisters in the Lord, I thank God for another opportunity to write in the Fall Quarter newsletter. I do not take for granted any day that I wake up! That is why I thank God in each newsletter. Last year was a very difficult year for me. There were many losses in my life beginning with the death of my older brother Ertha in July. Then God saw fit to call many others home over the next eleven months, including some from our own church family members. God is still Good! Because He is so good we are still alive. As a result of His goodness, we are able to be here at this season to enjoy back to school, autumn, and Thanksgiving Day. School has already begun for most students. I sometimes wonder if we as saints have our priorities in order. John 6:27 tells us, Labor not for the meat (food) which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed. It is the spiritual food from God s Word that will carry us as well as our children throughout our lives, including the hard times. What things do we consider to be most important? Though I am fully committed to the importance of education, I am not sure which form of education is most important to some Christians. We have to understand that just like we do not allow our children to stay home from school because they are too tired or they just do not want to go, it is even more important that they come out for Christian Education! Please bring your children out and join us for Sunday School. We also invite you to come and join the family for our other Christian education sessions whenever possible. Now that autumn is almost here, this is a good time to begin to move indoors. As the weather cools down, spend some family time together reading the Bible. There are so many interesting and exciting stories to share with our loved ones. One of the times we enjoy spending with those that we love is our nation s Thanksgiving Day. Every fourth Thursday of November is set-aside for this holiday. Those of us who know the Lord know that everyday is a day of thanksgiving! We read in I Chronicles 16:34 where King David says, O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever. Since we serve such a good God we can thank Him any and every day. As we enjoy Thanksgiving Day, let us start the morning by giving God thanks and praise. After that has been done, please have a Happy Thanksgiving with the ones that you love. As always it is our desire that this newsletter meet the needs of our family. We pray that it informs, inspires, educates and entertains you. Please let us know if there is anything else that we can do to serve you better. We pray that God will continue to bless and keep you in His care. Yours in Christ, Sister Janice Stutts

www.littlebethany.com Little Bethany will be going live with our very own website on Sunday, October 4th! The website will feature a section to introduce people to our Messiah, Jesus Christ. There will be a section just for new members. You will also be able to download the most current church calender and newsletters, as well as look at photos and videos of our church events. If you have any questions please direct them to the website committee: Deacon Robby Norwood, Bro. Jamai Jamison, Sis. Jackie Phillips, Sis. Michelle Norwood and Bro. Andrew Smith III. Below is a sneak peak at some of the pages.

sunday school quarter review bethany bible brain busters fall quarter 2015 The overall theme for this Fall Quarter is The Christian Community Comes Alive. Question is, why is the Christian Community Dead? And what is making it come alive? You may hear some say the Church is dead but, never offer solutions. We will discover what causes death and solutions for quickening in this quarter. Unit I: Sept. 2015 the theme is Seeds of New Growth. A couple of seeds that can be sown is Praying for One Another 9/6/2015 Acts 4:23-31 & Sharing All Things 9/13/15 Acts 4:34-5:10 both are expressions of love which we all can grow from. A couple of more seeds to sow are Witnessing to the Truth 9/20/15 Acts 5:27-29, 33-42 even if the lie is acceptable and popular and Remembering God s Faithfulness 9/27/15 Acts 7:2-4,8-10, 17,33-34, 45-47, 52-53, 55 because standing on the side of truth could at times be lonely. Unit II: Oct.2015 The theme is Giving Bold Testimony. Many of us are not comfortable sharing our testimony, so here s some help. First recognize The Ministry of the Spirit 10/4/2015 Acts 8:9-24 which will produce A Dynamic New Witness 10/11/15 Acts 9:18-31 in you. By Breaking Down Barriers 10/18/15 / Acts 10:24-38 which will enable you to continue Trusting in the Spirit 10/25/2015 Acts 11: 1-18. Unit III: Nov.2015 Theme is Spreading the Gospel. Just like giving a bold testimony, spreading the Gospel is often met with hesitation. So utilize The Power of Prayer 11/1/15 Acts 12:1-11. You don t have to be special there is No Difference in God s Sight Nov. 8 Acts 15:1-12 when it comes to Spreading the Word Nov. 15 Acts 16:1-5, 8-15 to aid in Making God Known Nov. 22 Acts 17:1-4, 10-12, 22-25, 28 by Teaching God s Word 11/29/15 Acts 18:1-11. see you in sunday school!
