Monday, December 10 10:30am Calvin Library Killers of the Flower Moon David Grann (970.1/Gra) Non-Fiction In the 1920s, the richest people per capita in the world were members of the Osage Indian nation in Oklahoma. After oil was discovered beneath their land, they rode in chauffeured automobiles, built mansions and sent their children to study in Europe. Then, one by one, the Osage began to be killed off. Based on years of research and startling new evidence, the book is a masterpiece of narrative nonfiction. But more than that, it is a searing indictment of the callousness and prejudice toward American Indians that allowed the murderers to operate with impunity for so long. Disturbing and riveting...it will sear your soul. Dave Eggers, NYT We rehearse at 3pm every Thursday in the Choir Room. Fall rehearsals have begun but it s not too late to join us. We also warm up and rehearse lightly Sunday mornings from 9-9:30. Contact Faith Church s music director Rev. Sheryl Campbell directly at: scampbell@scfaith.org or 623-974-3611. The perfect way to get to know and meet new Faith Friends! We are putting together small groups for dinner gatherings February to April. If you would like to be included, please call Carole Bentley at 376-8050. Groups will meet in restaurants or homes, please specify your preferences when you call. Singles and couples are most welcome! Come, join in the fun and make new friends. You may hear sermons and special music on our website. Go to the home page, look for Worship with Us, directly below click on the square marked Recent Sermons and the square marked Special Music. Enjoy!
