Park Hill Christian Church NEWSLETTER Feb 21, 2019 LENTEN WORKSHOPS for 2019 Lent is a season of preparation for the celebration of Easter. Beginning Thursday, March 14, five weekly workshops will be offered each Thursday between Ash Wednesday and Maundy Thursday. March 6 th Ash Wednesday Service Meal at 5:45pm; Worship in Sanctuary at 6:30pm DATES AND TOPICS OF WORKSHOPS ARE: March 14 th March 21 st March 28 th April 4 th April 11 th April 18 th Prayer Exploring different kinds of prayer and different ways to pray. Forgiveness What it is, and what it isn t; why we need to practice it, and how we do it. Grief We grieve many losses. Learn healing ways to make the grief journeys we have in our lives. Anger Jesus showed anger. How do we do anger in healthy ways? Self Esteem We are created in God s image How do we claim that when the world disputes our worth over and over? Maundy Thursday Service Meal at 5:45pm; Worship in Sanctuary at 6:30pm All workshops will meet in Meade Hall, so parking by that back door would be best. The time for the workshops will be 6pm-7:30/8pm, which will hopefully get us out before dark. A dessert, coffee, tea and water will be provided. Please pray for Mike Watson s family. Mike s brother, Brad passed away recently. Healing prayers requested for Julie Waddle, Rob Waddle s sister, as she continues her fight against cancer. Pray for Lorraine Vandersteen, Denise Waddle s mom, as she recuperates from her cancer surgery and next steps in her treatment. Kathy Hendrix s daughter, Elizabeth Winn, needs prayers for her heart condition. Sarah Vollenweider passed away recently. Please pray for her family. Mike Watson s mom underwent surgery for a broken elbow. Prayers for healing requested. Prayers to celebrate with Andrew Beldo as he concludes a great high school career and finalizes his college search. Prayers are needed for Jim Brown as he recovers from medical treatments.
