In the parish hall you will find many hidden treasures in the What-Not-Shop, Country Crafts Shop, Book Room, Toys & Game Shop, and Religious Goods. Our Bake Shop will offer many tantalizing goodies to choose from as well. If you are hungry, our food booths include the Chowder Bowl offering both red and white chowder, the Grill Masters serving hamburgers and hot dogs, Italian Specialties include meatball subs and pizza. What would a fair be without a Dough Boys booth and Ice Cream? Join us as we celebrate the end of summer and the approach of fall. See you at the Fair! NOVENA OF OUR LADY OF SORROWS Saint Mark s Fair September 6, 2014 HELP STILL NEEDED & WANTED! Many thanks to all who are helping us in these last few days. We get so much done with this help! Help will still be needed to work in various booths on fair day to give relief to those in the booths. We will also need you to help with setup for the fair on September 4 and 5 and breakdown and especially cleanup on the evening of September 6. Summer vacations are winding down and it s time to resume our Respect Life activities in the Parish of St. Mark. Our annual 9 Days For Life A Novena to Our Lady of Sorrows, begins on Monday, September 1, Labor Day, after daily Mass. This will continue for three weeks on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays after daily Mass. These 9 days will incorporate the feasts of the Birth of Mary (September 8) and Our Lady of Sorrows (September 15), ending on Wednesday, September 17. If you are unable to join us in church, please consider praying at home for the most vulnerable among us the pre-born and their parents, the sick, the elderly, the poor and the disabled. Parents/guardian of children entering first grade or are new to the parish and need to register to the Religious Education program are asked to call the Religious Education office at 508-695- 7773 or email at saintmarkreled@verizon.net. PARENTS OF CATHOIC SCHOOL CHILDREN: if you child attends Catholic School and is a candidate for First Eucharist (grade 2) of Confirmation (grade 9) you need to register your child into the parish sacramental program. For more information, contact the Religious Education office at the above mentioned number. BAKE SHOP The Fair Bake Shop will be open for business on September 6. We need your help to fill the shelves. Our parish is blessed with many fine cooks and bakers. We hope you will consider preparing an item or two from among your family favorites for the Bake Shop. Items for the Bake Shop can be brought to the parish hall on Friday, September 5, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. or when you come to the fair on Saturday, September 6. You may leave your donated items at the bottom of the front stairs of the church. Please do not leave any items outside the church doors. THE BOOK ROOM You may leave used hard cover books, paperbacks, CD s, DVD s, children s books, etc. Remember no Encyclopedia, text books, or Reader s Digest Condensed books. RAFFLE TABLE Time to think of either a basket or a gift item or gift certificates. All baskets and gifts need to be wrapped so that nothing is lost. All items for the Raffle Table can only be received at the Rectory between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays. The office staff is off on Fridays. CHILDREN S ROOM Please drop off any toys or games that are CLEAN AND GENTLY USED for the Children s Room at the bottom of the stairs and be sure to indicate that these items are for that room. Remember we cannot accept any STUFFED ANIMALS due to State laws. Any and all other toys and games are acceptable.
