Holly Springs Baptist Church 366 Holly Springs Church Rd. Franklin, NC 28734 828.524.5564 2017 GOD S PLAN OF SALVATION GOD loves YOU For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. -John 3:16 You are a sinner. For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. -Romans 3:23 The Holy Spirit convicts YOU of sin. And when He is come, He will reprove the world of sin...because they believe not on me. -John 16:8-9 Your response is to repent of sin. For I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. -Matthew 9:13 Trust in Christ as Savior. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:9, 10, 13 Grow in Christ by following through with baptism and uniting with a church. You will find new Christian friends and grow in your new life in Christ. You would be hard pressed to find anywhere else in this old world that matches the beauty of Fall in these mountains! Evidently a whole lot of other folks feel the same way because this entire month will see our town filled with folks from all over coming to experience God s splendor and beautiful creation. It is such an exciting and wonderful time of year. My prayer for us all is that as we see the beauty of the leaves turning, the crisp, clear blue skies, the mystery of the lengthening shadows the harvest moon we will see the wonder of our God Who in His creativity and majesty and grace put all of this into place. Our town is full of folks and activities during the month of October and so is HSBC! It s going to be a great month of worship and study and reaching out into the community. There will be opportunities to fellowship and minister within. There will be great opportunities to reach out and get outside of our walls. Your Deacons and I have been working hard identifying ways for us to impact our community, our schools, our world. One of the ideas that came from this thinking outside the box is to host a Fall Sports Day for Franklin High. Everybody wants to feed the football team, and that s good but most of the other teams get overlooked. So, we are going to invite each of the Fall sports teams and their coaches to HSBC on Sunday October 22 for the morning service. There will be testimonies form students and coaches, powerful worship, and a brief message from me, all followed by a lunch for the students and coaches. It will be a way to honor them, celebrate their accomplishments and share the hope of Christ with them. To be honest none of us know what to expect or how many will actually come. But this we know doing nothing is not an option for us! So pray for us as we continue to pray and plan for this event! Fall Festival is coming up as well. On Halloween evening we will be back downtown on the vacant lot next to Fox Mercantile with games, inflatables, food, candy and lots of info about HSBC! Last year was an amazing success and we are praying for even more opportunities to touch lives this year! So, be ready to sign up and serve! Much more is happening in every area! It is a busy and exciting time to be part of what God is doing here in this place! I am honored to be your pastor! And I am more excited than ever about our future! Sharon and I love y all! Hang on the ride is getting good! Blessings, Donnie
Ignite Students and Families, Wednesday Nights in October, we will be diving into the series Best Seller, a series about growing spiritually. When it comes to the Bible, do you ever wonder what all the fuss is about? In this series, we ll unpack what the big deal is as we discover that the Bible can be a useful and powerful tool that impacts our lives today. See you at 6:00 PM on Wednesday Nights! P2 Important Dates 1 - Dessert Night (Bring a favorite dessert to share) 8 - Jump Factory ($30 includes Jumping and Pizza) 15 - No Sunday Evening Activities 22 - Fall Sports Day @ Church (No Sunday Evening Activities) 29 - Soup, Salad, and Potato Lunch Fundraiser 29 - Only the Brave @ Ruby Cinemas 31 - Fall Festival Downtown 5:00-8:00 PM During the month of October, Ignite Student Ministries will be hosting a church-wide book drive to benefit the local organization Read2Me. The goal is that with the help of the entire church we will be able to reach a total of 600 books. These books will then be donated to Read2Me, which sponsors literacy programs in Macon County. Read2Me organizes events to get children involved in reading, and actively seeks to encourage parents to read to their children every night. Read2Me also donates to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, a program which sends a child a book every month until the age of 5. Right now, Read2Me is in need of board books for babies and toddlers, and picture books for the older children. If every person in the church seeks to donate their unused books, then we can reach our goal of 600 books, which will go to directly benefit children throughout Macon County.
