PRESIDENT S MESSAGE Dear Brothers, Sisters and loving young friends, Jai Shree Ram! The month of August was VERY SPECIAL, as we celebrated the Glorious PAST and the Bright FUTURE of India. It was with great Pride, Enthusiasm & Joy, that we celebrated the 72nd Independence Day of India on the 12th of August, 2018. A colorful Parade of young Kids, Senior Citizens, Teenagers, Ladies and Gents, waving the Tricolor flags marked the Day. After the Flag Hoisting Ceremony, the whole atmosphere was charged with the spirit of Patriotism, as the Evergreen Desh Bhakti Songs were played. The Young and the Old, were seen humming the tunes and dancing along. Everyone dressed in the Saffron, White & Green colors of the Indian Flag, wearing Caps, Sashes, Badges, Turbans etc. brought back old memories of our hard earned Freedom. A Senior Member of our HOM Parivar, Mr Kailash Chadha, started the program with a very befitting song: Aoa Bacho tumhe dikhaye jhanki Hindustan ki. All the young kids present in the congregation, walked around the hall, waving the Tricolor Flags, with their Hindi Class teacher, Meera Chander, leading the way. Renowned singers like Uma Nath, Sanjay Bhansali, Sukaran Atwal, along with Ajay Ghai on the Dhol, sang old patriotic songs and paid homage to the Freedom Fighters. I would like to congratulate ALL the members of our Community for actively participating in these functions organized by the Management Team of Hari Om Mandir. YOUTH NIGHT a showcase of our talented Future was held on Sat, Aug.25th 2018. A Gala Evening of Music, Dance, Fun and Entertainment was organized by the young devotees of the Hari Om Mandir. The Youth Coordinators, Adi Mohan and Sid Singla, worked very hard to put together an excellent Program of Classical, Bollywood & Hollywood Songs & Dances to entertain the audiences. I would also like to thank the Parents of all the Kids who participated and helped to make this event a grand success! I am especially proud of the fact that this Year, we had maximum participation from the kids of our very own HOM Parivar Members / Devotees. It was a pleasure to see Parents and Grand Parents who have contributed immensely to the Growth of Hari Om Mandir, over the years, have their next generation perform and carry forward the torch of Indian Culture. We have always provided a platform to the Schools & Academies who promote our culture, to participate and exhibit their talent, but, I am very proud to see that kids from our own Families are coming forward in great numbers to promote Indian Values, Traditions & Heritage Our Future is surely safe in these young hands. Coming up are again 2 important functions in the month of September. We shall be celebrating the Birth of Lord Krishna Janamashtami on Sunday, the 2nd of Sept. in the evening from 8pm to Midnight. Hence, we shall not have our regular Morning Congregation on that Sunday. The other major Event is the Annual Fundraiser Dinner to be held on Sept. 29th at the PEARL BANQUET HALL. As always, we need your generous donations to accomplish our goals for providing good Services & modern day Amenities for public safety and convenience.
