As many of you know, this has been an eight and a half year journey. What began as an expansion of our Narthex has, through prayer and input from our congregation, become an opportunity to expand our facilities to enhance our time of Worship, Bible Study and Fellowship. I am so grateful for the leadership of our Facilities Master Planning Committee as well as our many Trustees over the last eight years who have given to this project their time, energy and thought. This past Sunday, the Trustees heard from the Facilities Master Planning Committee, the Logistic and Transition Team and our Treasurer and Finance Committee Chairs. The purpose of this meeting was to finalize the Trustee s recommendation to the congregation concerning the scope, cost and financing of the project. In addition, the Logistic and Transition team offered their plan for the congregation during construction time if the congregation approves the recommendation. The Trustees are finalizing their recommendation this month and they have submitted the following timeline: May 1 Update the Deacons in regular Deacons Meeting May 15 Present recommendation of scope, cost, transition and financing to the congregation in regular Church Conference. This Church Conference will be held in the Sanctuary on May 15, at 7:00 p.m. May 22 The church will hold a Special Called Church Conference as a Major Church event for the purpose of voting on the recommendation of the Trustees. This will occur at the end of both services and there will be a ballot vote. continued

You might ask what you can do between now and May 15 and May 22? I encourage you to go online and again familiarize yourself with the scope of the project. The information about the project can be found at the Trinity website under Deepenthetiesthatbind.com. In addition, take some time to view the renderings, which are found throughout the church campus. Most importantly, pray for the future of our church. At Trinity, we never want to go into the future without walking with God and walking with each other. We value our lives together and the harmony of our fellowship. This is of utmost importance to us. Most of all, we value being in God s will as individuals and as a congregation. We want to please God and be faithful servants as we respond to our community and the future. Will you join me in a month of prayer for our congregation and its future in regards to this project? Rev. Karen Metcalf Eickhoff, kmetcalf@tbcraleigh.com Discipleship So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in Him, If you abide in My word, you are truly My disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. John 8:31-32 Jesus commands us to study and remain true to His Holy word. Discipleship programs and classes offer us this opportunity. This past Sunday, April 17 concluded our discipleship programs on Sunday evenings. We had an awesome group of leaders in all ages. I am impressed with all the leaders and the attenders for such wonderful and educational experiences. Thank you to all who commit to our Sunday evenings at Trinity. Thanks to Dr. Roberts, Dr. Warf, Alex Townsend and Angela Strickland for leading adults. Thanks also to Roger Moates, Dawn Dees, Victoria Price, Carol Donovan, Suzanna Fay, Mark Munday, Lois Wret, Nell Campbell, Shelby Potts, Alice Clark and Sam Judge for sharing and caring for your children each week. Even though the Sunday Evening experiences of discipleship have ended, we are not concluding all discipleship. We still have Bible studies with various groups and Wednesday evenings will continue through the summer. You will not want to miss out on a summer study of psalms each Wednesday. Our Sunday School classes are strong and provide quality teaching on a regular basis as well. Trinity has a group of lay leaders that makes up a discipleship lead team under the direction of Angela Strickland. We welcome suggestions and needs you may have that we can consider for future discipleship opportunities. And don t forget the children and youth. We need committed volunteers and willing souls to teach and nurture all ages. Discipleship is a constant growing experience in Christ. Claim the promise! And Jesus came and said to them, All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age. Matthew 28: 18-20 Block Classes For Grade School Children Wednesdays 6:45pm -7:30pm Children must sign-up for classes as they enter for choir.
