17th April 2011 The Impact of the name Al Haadi When you learn any of the names of Allah azzawajal there should be an impact impact in your thinking impact in the way you behave with people impact on your character impact on your ibadaah How will the name will change your life? Whenever you see some thing beautiful in life creatures mountins wind sky sand it should remind you of Al Haaadi you feel subhanallh how Allah has guided everything The mountains are holding the earth down like pegs because Allah has guided them to do so. even gravity is because Allah guided the earth so that everything on it will stay in tact atoms like O2 and H2O are in that form because Allah guided them. the bees the ants caterpillars all follow their routine and their life cycle because Allah guided them to it. This name should thereby increase your faith in Allah SWT Everything in life pinpoints to a CREATOR. Everything is guided to their jobs and their purpose Allah huwa al Haadi Even if you look at your own life. How you were before and how you are now. Not just your worldly life but your guidance to earn Allah's pleasure and reward Allah guided you. Even when you came to this class to learn about this name it was through His guidance Allah is behind the means I may have heard it from someone and gotten a lift from someone else to get here but it was Allah behind all those things. He guides us for success in our Aakhirah Even attending a darrs (class) sincerely for Allah's sake without show off or worldly gain status etc is a means for you to attain forgiveness for your sins. its a station in life for purification. And Allah replaces those sins with Hasanaat(good deeds)! Subhanallah! All of us will know sometimes our hearts feel so heavy. you feel depressed sad down in the dumps it is the weight of your sins The cure for this is to seek forgiveness from Allah Alhamdulillah. don't you feel grateful for His Guidance to even attain peace in your heart an and mind.

Sometimes in life when it comes to choices you are confused Should i go should i not go? should i marry should i not marry? should i have kids or should i not have kids? Yes we do salatul isthikarah subhanallah Allah has granted that to us. But even before and after isthikarah we also seek Allah's guidance It is only Allah who guides us to the best decision in our lives Whatever choices we make we want Allah to guide us. When you feel lost and in your heart (just your heart) you ask Allah and you turn only to Him in your heart you do not know how much Allah appreciates this. and only HE can see the movements of your heart. Sometimes when we have experience in certain things we feel over confident 'i don't need to ask Allah to guide me" you are so sure that it is you who can handle everything. But Humans need Allah. Example- a mother who has 5 kids will feel when she has her 6th child " oh i have got this. I've handled five after all" subhanallh It was not you who equipped yourself to be able to handle the five kids Allah blessed you with. It was Allah who guided you in everything and took charge of your affairs. All of us should feel like we need Allah no matter how experienced we feel about anything. We need His Guidance. Our hearts should always be connected to Allah. You should be absolutely certain (yakeen) that ONLY ALLAH CAN GUIDE YOU. If your heart is like this always Allah will most surely guide you If you depend on people but your heart does not rely on Allah you will not feel guided. You need Allah for all matters. With Isthikarah which is an action of the limbs you also need to ask Allah this is the action of your heart. You need movements of the heart. Any of the deeds we do it is our heart that matters.allah will hasten our limbs if we accept guidance with our heart. Hadith- If we go walking to Allah, Allah comes to us running. Subhanallah Another imapact this name should have on you is that Allah loves it if you will be a means to guide others. Allah holds the attribute of the Guider because His is perfect Guidance but He loves it if you are a means to put across His perfect attribute of guidance to others. even Allah's other attributes like Rahma (Mercy) or Lateef (Most Kind and Courteous) He loves if you are a means to be merciful to others or you are a means to be kind to others

Even in worldly matters if you guide someone Allah will appreciate it. then imagine how much Allah will appreciate it if you are a means to guide someone to Islam. A true Muslim according to the Hadith of Prophet SAW wants for others whatever blessings he has. This is why even the knowledge you share with others because you want them to feel as relaxed as happy as content as you are when you learn. And you want Allah's reward. Knowledge sharing does not need to be you have to be a scholar. Even a small piece of Knowledge you share with another can be beneficial. You don't know how it will affect the other person. Maybe not even right away but much later. Example- You don't have to necessarily call people to a darrs. you can be good to people smile with them inquire about them. when you have good character with people by keeping to the rules Allah has laid down this may be a means to guide them. If you have good intention and you don't put obstacles before you Allah will make it easy for you to guide others. Allah will bring the ways to guide people right to your doorstep. Subhanallah. Example - a person who wants sincerely to do charity for miskin will find Allah will send the deserving people to you likewise if you see someone and you sincerely in your heart wish you could be a means for guiding them Allah will make it easy. You need to be YAKEEN of Allah. Absolutely certain. Example- you have a friend who is not praying and you sincerely want to help her because you love her and fear for her. you don't do it because you have self conceit (ujb) about your own self praying. and you don't want fame and status that you are so knowledgeable. Auzubillah. you genuinely feel you want Allah to guide her like He is guiding you. you can advice her very gently. Remember daa'wah is not being harsh. in a kind way speak to her.maybe although she is muslim she doesn't know who Allah is so the magnitude of not praying doesnt affect her because she doesn't know Who she is truly worshipping. explain to her kindly. the perfect example of daa'wah is that of the Prophet SAW. he was such an accessible open kind person even in preaching. Thats why in the Hadith a young man came to him to seek his permission to commit adultery. Imagine what sort of a person the Prophet SAW was for someone to feel comfortble enough to do that nowadays. even we feel shy when we think about that scenario. But the young man obviously felt comfortable seeking counsel from the Prophet SAW. and how kindly the Prophet SAW adviced him saying would he like it if someone did the act he was about to do with his own mother or sister. The Prophet SAW was not harsh in his daa'waah So be a means to guide but be gentle.

If by nature you are an impatient person and you get carried away and angry ask Allah to help your character especially for Da'wah Don't feel frustrated when people may not follow or understand or accept. Don't feel like the da'wah is a burden. Check your heart then. Are you doing da'wah and feeling angry when people don't accept the hidaya because you feel they are not listening to you. Or did you do it for Allah's sake? Remember in your hands is only the means to guide but not to change people.the Hidayat al Tawfeeq is in Allah SWT's Hands depending on that persons heart Remembering that Hidayathul Tawfeeq is from Allah SWT is important. This may affect you especially when you are trying to guide your children but all your kids may not follow the guidance you try to give them. Remember this with children even when you take all the means and still they are not guided. Don't think just because alhamdulillah you and your husband are striving to seek the guidance and stay on the straight path that automatically it means all your children will be a copy paste of you both. You have to rely on Allah solely and make plentiful dua before and after you take means. Definitely you must take the means to guide them. to the best of your ability you teach them the deen and put them in a school which will uphold islamic values, try your best to ensure they keep the company of righteous people etc. But whether they follow or not is in Allah's hands. You just make dua for them continuously and sincerely. You don't want them to follow the religion just because your the parent and they have to obey what you say You don't want your son to just go to the masjid because you force him to. You want him to feel love in his heart for Allah and do it for Allah's sake. You be patient and continue taking the means but have firm faith and certainity that in your heart that Allah will guide them if their hearts are sincere. We do Hidayatul Bayan for our kids and convey the message, the rest you make dua Allah will grant them Hidayatul Tawfeeq Regarding yourself When we know the meaning of this name we will not be unaware when we receive guidance especially when we know about Hidayathul Bayan and Hidayathul Thawfeeq. We will purify and keep an open heart when guidance comes and accept it and make dua for Allah to hasten it with Hidayathul Thawfeeq which will lead us to be guided to jannah by Allah's Mercy. We will make the effort to keep away from bad company and be among righteous people. Whatever means you see to elevate yourself take the means. Catch the chances Allah is giving you. Don't postpone. In your heart accept the guidance from Allah SWT. He will then make your limbs act on it.

We will appreciate the blessing of guidance after learnng this name. Subhanallah. before learning this name maybe we associated blessings as just house husband kids money status comfortable living food drink. Now we realise what true blessing is.and we will use the aforementioned worldly blessings also seeking Allah's guidance in a manner pleasing to him. ٱI MO ٲط ٱI Sirath Al Musthakeem @A C D F H We are moving on ths siraat in life. We are all at different stages. We are thankful for the people who guided us but we know in our hearts Allah sent them as means. So you appreciate it and you are grateful to Allah SWT. When you are grateful Allah SWT will increase you in your blessings. On this note we go back to Surah Fatiha The beauty of this Surah- it is the Opening and it is also the Shafia (Cure) What are we saying in surah Fatiha A UM @ H UM R ٱI ٱV ٱI @ F W (١) In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful (1) (٢) ٱ( 1 # 2 / ر ب ٱ(' $ #! All the praises and thanks be to Allah, the Lord [] of the 'Âlamîn (mankind, jinn and all that exists). (2) (٣) ٱ( BC # ٱ( A! Guide us to the Straight Way. (6) وo C n ٲط ٱ( H m أX C! j A f! $ g k # ' ٱ( # J hi ب A f! $ g (ٱ( Th (! ) ٧ The Way of those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace, not (the way) of those who earned Your Anger (such as the Jews), nor of those who went astray (such as the Christians). (7) First You are praising and thanking Allah. You are calling upon Allah with His names and magnifying Him. And Allah replies to each verse of Surah Fatiha when you recite it. Allah says My save is magnifying me for the verses 1 to 4. In the fifth verse you are admitting your need for Allah and saying you Worship Only Him and ask Only Him.Allah's reply to the fourth verse is that Whatever you invoke He will Grant it. So what are you invoking Allah for in ٦) ٱھT X 1 ٱ( Cb ٲط ٱ( A! _ Y Z # You are asking for Guidance to The Straight Path not just in the Aaakhiraah but in this life too. You are further specifying that you want to be on the path of those blessed with Allah's Grace like the Prophets and the Sahabas and the righteous companions and you don't want to be those Allah is angry with or who are misguided. Allah's wrath is on those who know the truth, which is Islam, but don't follow. And those who do but not with guidance. Misguided people are those who worship not based on knowledge not following the Quran and the Sunnah of Prophet SAW The Ulama said as regards V6 of Surah Fatiha ٱھT X 1 ٦ ) A! _ Y Z # ٱ( Cb ٲط Guideٱ( us to the Straight Way That when you recite the verse you are seeking 10 types of guidance. when you know these types you will appreciate it when you pray with Khushoo (humility and tranquility) 1. Allah will guide you to Acquire Knowledge He will guide you to know what is the truth, right, wrong, halal Haram even though you didn't specify He will guide you to this. 2. Allah will make youable to act on the Knowledge He will give you the ability strength and power to do what He guides you to. If it wasn't for Allah you can't do anything.

3. Allah will make you want to act on the Knowledge 4. Allah will make you do it 5. Allah will make you firm on the knowledge He guided you to till you meet Allah You want the guidance you receive to be continuous. You don't want to fall back on the path of guidance. We all need to get better. no one comes to a point where they have finished receiving guidance. Till you die you are seeking knowledge. and you want to be firm on it till we die as well. 6. Allah will protect you from the obstacles. Anything that will divert you or make you go back. Example Allah guided me alhamdulillah to wear hijaab People will mockand laugh at me. poke fun that i'm too rigid in my practicing of islam Allah will protect you from all of this. Sometimes the obstacle is not even just the people alone. I want people to see my hair and how pretty I am. or I love listening to music. Imagine when you make this dua invoking Allah to guide you He will protect you even from the obstacle of your own desire (your nafs) 7. Allah will be showing you your goal - Jannah Allah will never let you forget why you are accepting and acting on the guidance. To attain Jannah. He will keep reminding you of this goal 8. Allah will show you your poverty or need for guidance sometimes once guided you feel ok now i'm self sufficient. You forget that you are poor to Allah for the Guidance. You feel self conceit that He granted you guidance and you look at misguided people and think "ok i am wearing the hijaab praying fasting coming for a darrs (class) i'm definite for jannah now. i don't need Allah's guidance." Guidance continues till you die. No one is self sufficient in guidance. we will all be learning till we die. we should be seeking guidance till death comes. Allah will make you remember you still need it when you feel self sufficient in it. He will remind you to really appreciate it. 9. Allah will show you the way of the ones who are misguided Sometimes when you see people who are misguided you feel grateful for the blessing He gave you. 10. there is a tenth type of guidance this Allah will ensure after the first 9 types. this is Allah will guide you to whatever is good in your worldly life.

Thus ends the types of guidance you are asking and receive if you are sincere when you recite surah fatihah Imagine you recite it 17 times a day minimum. So now you will have khushoo when you are reciting because you know what you are asking Allah for. Subhanallah May Allah Grant us all the 10 types of guidance when we recite it. Ameen Ya Rabbal Alameen.
