The 10th presentation of the Edith Bradshaw Scholarship will be held on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 13 at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church in Mount Olive. The scholarship is available to any high school senior at St. Mary's or Immaculate Conception in Clinton. A $1000 award and plaque will be given. The Edith Bradshaw Scholarship began as an effort by her son, Michael Mozingo, after her sudden death in December 2001. As Mr. Mozingo prayed to "love God more and know Him better" during his grief, he decided to honor the memory of his mom with a scholarship. Mr. Mozingo continues to teach in Duplin County Schools and travels throughout the state providing motivational speaking in which he shares the story of how his "faith, a mother's love and an education" saved his life. He continues to say "Anything good I know about being a good and decent human being, I learned at my Mother's knee."
