Pastor Malcolm attended the Sunday night meeting on 25 October to go over how we can form a Youth Council. We will need 8 youth to serve as the foundation of the council. In a perfect world those four youth would be: 4 middle schoolers (2 girls, 2 boys), 4 high schoolers (2 girls, 2 boys). The Youth Council Leadership positions will be created and chosen from those 8 youth. In the most basic form the leadership is: Chair/president, Vice Chair/Vice president, High School Rep and Middle School Rep. Members of the Youth Council will need to commit to: Regular church and youth group attendance Attending Youth Council meetings (date set by youth and adult leaders) Being an example of positive behavior and be a role model among the youth Listening to needs of others in UMYF Planning UMYF Events with the adult leaders Assisting with UMYF Sunday meetings: leading devotions/benedictions, take attendance, lead prayer time, etc Any Youth interested in serving as youth council member will need to let an adult youth leader know (in writing is best so we have an official record) by Sunday 15 November 2015. Meeting dates will be included in the UMYC Calendar, all youth are welcome and encouraged to attend.
