Opening Prayer First Reading A Reading from the Book of Ecclesiastes 3:1-8,11 Read by Peter Perez For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to pluck up what has been planted, a time to break down and a time to build up, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to throw away stones and a time to gather stones together, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to seek and a time to lose, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to sew, a time to keep silence and a time to speak, a time for war and a time for peace. God has made everything suitable for this time. The Word of the Lord All - Thanks be to God
Responsorial Psalm The Lord Is My Shepherd The Lord's my shepherd, I'll not want. He makes me down to lie In pastures green He leadeth me the quiet waters by. My soul He doth restore again; And me to walk doth make Within the paths of righteousness, Ev'n for His own name's sake. Yea', though I walk in death's dark vale, Yet will I fear none ill: For Thou art with me; and Thy rod and staff me comfort still. My table Thou has furnished In presence of my foes; My head Thou dost with oil anoint, And my cup overflows. Goodness and mercy all my life shall surely follow me: And in god's house for evermore my dwelling-place shall be. Second Reading A Reading from the Second Letter of St Paul to Timothy Read by Danny Perez As for me, the hour has come for me to go. The time is here for me to leave this life. I have done my best in the race, I have run the full distance, I have kept the faith, and now, the prize of victory is waiting for me, the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day, and not only me, but all those who wait with love, for Him to appear. The Word of the Lord ALL: Thanks be to God
Gospel Acclamation Alleluia, Alleluia! Happy are those who have died in the Lord; Let them rest from their labours for their good deeds go with them Alleluia! Gospel Reading A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to John 13:14-16 All: Glory to you, O Lord Jesus said to his disciples: "Peace I leave you, my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid. I have come from the Father and have come into the world, again I am leaving the world and am going to the Father. If you loved me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father, because the Father is greater than I. You are sad now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take you joy away from you."
