Bethlehem Star February 2018, Page 3 Overview from the January 9th, 2018 Church Council Meeting (Report by Lynn Bulger) Pastor Jean was on vacation at the time of this meeting. Members present were: Johnna Voto, Darlene Fernelius, Lynn Bulger, Casey Anguiano, Pat Gum and Sharon King. While it was the common consensus that we had a quorum, we later found out we did not. The minutes from the December 12th meeting were distributed and reports of committees were given by members present. The Budget Committee (Darlene, Lynn and Pat) distributed the Proposed Budget and answered questions. Discussion followed and proposals were brought to a motion (which later was voided). The original motion brought forth to the council can be found on page 16 of the Annual Report packet. A meeting took place on Saturday, January 20th with Pastor Jean and the Executive Committee to discuss the motion from the Budget Committee. Two subsequent meetings (Jan 21 & Jan 23) were held with all council members and Pastor Jean to further discuss the motion from the Budget Committee. At the January 23rd meeting a motion was passed to bring the recommendations of the Budget Committee to the congregation for discussion at the Annual Meeting (January 28th, 2018). Annual Meeting (Sunday, January 28th) Recap (Report by Lynn Bulger) Thank you to everyone who attended the Annual Meeting this year! Our roll call had 40 signatures! If you were unable to attend the Annual Meeting, we do still have copies of the Annual Report packet available. The packet will also be available on the website, in the near future. The main point of discussion was the Proposed Budget. A motion was passed to accept the Proposed Budget as given in the Annual Report. Another motion was passed to table the recommendations by the Budget Committee (page 16 of the Annual Report packet), until Sunday, February 25th, so that further discussion can take place. I highly recommend you ask questions, bring up concerns, pray, and attend the meeting on February 25th. Your opinion matters and we want to hear from you! If there are any motions brought forth, you will want to be there to vote. During the Annual Meeting, Shellie DeHoyos volunteered as council member. Sharon King has decided this would be her last year on council. As always, the council members met after the Annual Meeting to vote on officers and schedule the date and time of the council meetings. The Officers are: President - Lynn Bulger Vice-President - Andrew Smith Treasurer - Darlene Fernelius Secretary - Johnna Voto The Council Meetings will take place the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm. The Next Council Meeting is Tuesday, February 20th, 2018

After the success of last year s event, the Fellowship committee has decided to hold the Corned Beef dinner again this year! Remember, this is a great event to invite a friend to Bethlehem! Reservations will be taken, so we know how much food to prepare. A good will offering will be taken to cover the cost of food. More information to follow. Dates/times can be arranged with Jeannie (652-4309). Special Offering February 2018 The Montana Rescue Mission serves as a beacon of hope for the poor and homeless in Billings and throughout the greater Yellowstone County area. They provide emergency, temporary care and rehabilitative services from a distinctly Christian perspective for those seeking help and solutions. Through donations and the gracious help of volunteers, they are able to help the poor, homeless and oppressed off the street and to a new beginning.
