DIFFERENT to make a DIFFERENCE
Gospel Teaching: Matthew 5:13 14 13 You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its sal2ness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people s feet. 14 You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
Object Lesson: Daniel 1:3 8; 14 15 3 Then the king commanded Ashpenaz, his chief eunuch, to bring some of the people of Israel, both of the royal family and of the nobility, 4 youths without blemish, of good appearance and skillful in all wisdom, endowed with knowledge, understanding learning, and competent to stand in the king's palace, and to teach them the literature and language of the Chaldeans. 5 The king assigned them a daily por2on of the food that the king ate, and of the wine that he drank. They were to be educated for three years, and at the end of that 2me they were to stand before the king.
6 Among these were Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah of the tribe of Judah. 7 And the chief of the eunuchs gave them names: Daniel he called Belteshazzar, Hananiah he called Shadrach, Mishael he called Meshach, and Azariah he called Abednego. 8 But Daniel resolved that he would not defile himself with the king's food, or with the wine that he drank. Therefore he asked the chief of the eunuchs to allow him not to defile himself. 14 So he listened to them in this maper, and tested them for ten days. 15 At the end of ten days it was seen that they were beper in appearance and faper in flesh than all the youths who ate the king's food.

The Message in A Nutshell The Word of the Lord for today is that You are important and God wants to use you to make a difference. Your worth is neither determined by what you have nor what you don t have; its not about your background, what decisions you made in the past nor what other people have said about you. Your decision to follow Christ reset your path. You are special in Christ; you are important in Christ. And, God wants to use you for His glory despite the odds that are stacked against you!
