Colossians 2:6-7 NIV Happy New Year PMBA ANNUAL MEETING & SALAD SUPPER MARCH 10, 2016 AT OLD TOWN BAPTIST CHURCH - 6:00 PM Dear Ladies, We hope you will attend this opportunity to join with other missions minded women from PMBA congregations (with or without WMU). Bring a salad to share with others. There is no cost for this event! This is the second year for the critical issue "post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Who gets PTSD? We first think of veterans and soldiers, but any incident in which a person feels gravely threatened or fearful may trigger PTSD symptoms. Our special guest speaker will be Jessie Yates. Jessie is a missionary kid (MK) that grew up in a different culture with her parents in Africa. She will share her experiences and adjusting to life in Mt. Airy as a school teacher. Galatians 6:2 says, "Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ." May we all be more like Jesus!
In lieu of purchasing tickets, we invite you to bring an item from the wish list for the Winston Salem Battered Women's Shelter: paper products, cleaning supplies, hygiene items [to include cosmetics, bath wash, brushes, combs, perfume, etc. -- not used!], food [canned goods and staple items for the kitchen], books, children's books and games, etc. Or, you can write a check to PMBA for Domestic Violence, and our team will purchase much needed items for the battered women's shelters. Come and be with us. Invite your friends to attend. You don't have to be a member of a WMU Missions Group in order to be a part of our Salad Supper. Just bring your favorite salad -- large enough to share with others at your table. Join us on Thursday, March 10, at Old Town Baptist Church at 6 PM. If you have questions or need more information, contact Alison Lusk (336-847-2143) or Joyce Love (336-765-2542) We look forward to seeing you! Make this a great Ladies Night Out! Invite your friends. Lord, make me a blessing today! You Make a Difference When You Pay the Blessings Forward How do you wish to be remembered? Most of us have the desire to leave some kind of legacy to our families, our churches and/or to ministries that are special to us. By simply having a thoughtful estate plan in place, everyone has the capacity to make a difference far beyond their lifetime. Promoting the concept of Christian estate planning in our churches and associations brings positive results in several ways. First, individuals find a sense of satisfaction by remembering the Lord's work through their Last Will and Testament and other planning documents. Second, surviving family members can be better cared for when a plan is in place; it is the loving thing to do. Third, the lives of people in our churches, communities, country and around the world will be impacted by the Gospel as Christian ministries receive on-going financial support far beyond our lifetimes. The Baptist Foundation provides free promotional materials and speakers to help in this effort, and sample packets are mailed to every church and association in late October. January is "Make Your Will" month in Baptist life, so make sure your church gets 2016 off to a great start by contacting the Foundation for assistance. http://www.ncbaptistfoundation.org/ For more information, please contact Robert Simons at 1.800.521.7334 ext. 1682.
