Just Wrd Webinar with Pastr Tim Harris The Identity f Gd Pt. 3 September 24, 2018 www.justwrdministries.cm https://yutu.be/bijihwl7v7w KEY POINTS 1. Gd in the Old Testament is ften frm the Hebrew wrd Elhim א ל ה י ם (Gen. 1:1). 2. LORD in the Old Testament is ften frm the Hebrew wrd Yahweh / Jehvah י ה ו ה (Gen. 2:4). 3. The rt and cntracted frm f Yahweh / Jehvah is JAH י ה (Psa. 68:4) 4. Gd didn t tell Israel t stand still; Gd said g frward (Ex. 14:13-15). 5. I AM was nt Gd s name but a verb shwing that Gd wuld be, d, becme, wrk whatever, hwever He wanted as His peple needed (Ex. 3:11-15). א ל ה י ם [REVIEW] Gen. 1:1 - Gd ELOHIM S:430 - Translated in ur Bible as angels, Gd, gds, judges Hebrew Nun - Masculine - Plural Yd י and Mem ם (and smetimes just Mem (ם ften make a wrd plural in Hebrew MEM - ften means plurality at the end f a Hebrew wrd ם Mem written at the end f a wrd lks like מ Mem in the beginning r the middle f a wrd lks like With Elhiym (Gd) there is plurality but Gd s plurality has nthing t d with the number f gds but with Gd s state f being. Mem is where ur letter M cmes frm - a picture f water Water can be in varius states - a vapr (gas), a clud, liquid, ice - s it makes sense that Gd chse mem t depict multiplicity. Water n matter it s frm is still H 2O water and n matter what state Gd is in He s still the same Gd! Elhim was a name used fr varius beings - NOT unique t the ne true Gd nly but a general term fr gd used thrughut the scripture: Rachel s images (Gen. 31:30) The spirits the witch f Endr saw ascending when Saul went t her (1 Sam. 28:13) The gd f the Zidnians, Mabites, Amnites (1 Kgs. 11:33) Individuals wh were judges r where Jesus quted abut us being gds י ה ו ה (JEHOVAH) Gen. 2:4 - LORD YAHWEH YAHWEH י ה וה LORD in ur Bible - letters frm right t left are: Yd י - picture f an arm and hand - translated in ur Bible as pwer Hey ה - man behlding - depicts the breath f Gd Vau ו - nail Hey ה - man behlding - at the end can speak f what cmes frm" Yahweh als is prnunced Jehvah & called fur r tetragram (because it has fur letters) Key letters t understand Jehvah are the first tw letters: י ה JAH (cntractin f Jehvah) Psa. 68:4 - him that rideth upn the heavens by his name JAH " First letter: YOD י - arm and hand - translated in ur Bible as hand and pwer Gen. 31:29 - It is the pwer f my hand [yad] t d yu hurt " Prv. 18:21 - Death and life are in the pwer [yad] f the tngue
When I think abut Him being the LORD and call n Him as LORD, I expect His arm, hand, pwer t be revealed! Secnd letter: HEY ה - represents the breath f Gd Gen. 1:1 vs. Gen. 2:4 create Gen. 2:4 - These are the generatins f the heavens and f the earth when they were created בּ ה בּ אָם ר Created in this verse is Within the Gen. 2:4 wrd fr created is the wrd fr create in Gen. 1:1 Gd) (which represents the breath f ה but it als has the letter HEY ב ר א in it In Gen. 1:1 Elhim is the creatr but in Gen. 2:4 Yahweh is the creatr and it ges in mre detail In the riginal texts, the hey ה in the Gen. 2:4 wrd fr created is a reduced letter, smaller than the ther letters Gd didn t have t take a BIG breath t create heaven and earth; He just had t use a small breath t make everything in creatin. Psa. 33:6 - By the wrd f the LORD were the heavens made; and all the hst f them by the breath f his muth. When Gd rested n the seventh day, it was nt because He was tired - creatin just tk a small breath. Jesus gave the disciples a taste f the Hly Ghst in Jhn 20:22 - And when he had said this, he breathed n [them], and saith unt them, Receive ye the Hly Ghst: Jesus didn t have t breathe really hard & pant because the LORD Gd is the cntrller f the universe; there s nthing He des nt have pwer ver. When I start lking at Gd as the LORD, cntrller f everything, it s nt a hard jb fr Him. Whatever we call n Him t d, it is easy fr Him t d and the tw letters (yd י and hey (ה illustrate that. Ex. 6:3 - Gd Almighty EL SHADDAY א ל ש ד י vs. JEHOVAH Ex. 6:3 And I appeared unt Abraham, unt Isaac, and unt Jacb, by [the name f] Gd Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I nt knwn t them. Gd Almighty is frm the Hebrew El א ל Shadday ש ד י (S:7706) י ה ו ה The rt f Shadday is shad ד שׁ (S: 7699) which means breast, pap, teat and was used fr the breast f a wman r animal. When Gd shws up as El Shadday (the Almighty Gd), He shws up as the Gd f blessings, the Gd f blessings f the fruit and the wmb El Shadday - Gd wh is fruitful and blessing like smene is blessed by the breast f their mther. Uses f Almighty in scripture shw Gd bestwing blessings Gen. 17:1-3 I am the Almighty Gd I will make my cvenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly " Gen. 28:3 And Gd Almighty bless thee, and make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, that thu mayest be a multitude f peple;" Gen. 35:11 "And Gd said unt him, I [am] Gd Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a natin and a cmpany f natins shall be f thee, and kings shall cme ut f thy lins;"
Many Christians nly want Gd t be a Gd f blessings but Gd said in Ex. 6:3, by my name JEHOVAH was I nt knwn t them." ד ע Gd s Picture f Knwledge Knwledge in Gen. 2:17 tree f the knwledge f gd and evil - da`ath ת ע דּ (S:1847).ע and ayin ד The tw letters cnsistently in the wrd knwledge are daleth Daleth ד - a picture f a dr, translated dr in ur Bible Ayin ע - a picture f an eye, speaks f an experience Gd s picture f knw(ledge): fr me t knw smething, I pen the dr, my eyes g thrugh the dr, and I have an experience an eye-pening experience is knwledge Knew is used in Gen. 4:1 And Adam knew Eve his wife Knew is י ד ע (frm left t right yd,י daleth,ד and ayin (ע picture f putting my hand r using my pwer [yd [י n the dr [daleth,[ד pening it and ging [ע thrugh, and have an eye-pening r eye-ppping experience [ayin י ה ו ה His Name JEHOVAH Abraham knew a lt abut Gd (including Him being Jehvahjireh in Gen. 22:13-14) but in Ex. 6:3 Gd tld Mses by my name JEHOVAH was I nt knwn t them. They didn t really understand His pwer and His ability t make things happen with His arm.[ה and the breath f His muth [hey [י and hand [yd When yu think f JEHOVAH י ה ו ה, think f Gd s pwer [yd [י and Gd s.[ה breath [hey When Gd appears t Mses, Gd shws up t Israel it is cntinually with a mighty hand and utstretched arm. Mighty hand is never used in Genesis r regarding Abraham s relatinship with Gd but used repeatedly when it cmes t Mses and the children f Israel: Ex. 3:19-20 "And I am sure that the king f Egypt will nt let yu g, n, nt by a mighty hand. 20 And I will stretch ut my hand, and smite Egypt with all my wnders which I will d in the midst theref: and after that he will let yu g." Ex. 32:11 "And Mses besught the LORD his Gd, and said, LORD, why dth thy wrath wax ht against thy peple, which thu hast brught frth ut f the land f Egypt with great pwer, and with a mighty hand?" Deut 3:24 "O Lrd GOD, thu hast begun t shew thy servant thy greatness, and thy mighty hand: fr what Gd [is there] in heaven r in earth, that can d accrding t thy wrks, and accrding t thy might?" Deut 4:34 "Or hath Gd assayed t g [and] take him a natin frm the midst f [anther] natin, by temptatins, by signs, and by wnders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by a stretched ut arm, and by great terrrs, accrding t all that the LORD yur Gd did fr yu in Egypt befre yur eyes?" Elhim is the Gd f everybdy but when we mve t Genesis 2 and the bk f Exdus we see Him as LORD Jehvah (and eventually Jesus, Jehvah the Saviur). Jehvah, the LORD Gd, did nt cme passively and speak and transprting His peple frm Egypt int the prmised land. As Jehvah He shwed up as the LORD with an utstretched arm and a mighty hand, delivering with great signs and wnders. Ex. 14:13-15 - Stand Still? G Frward! Mses tells the children f Israel t Stand still, and see the salvatin f the LORD (v. 13) but that is nt what Gd said t say because the Red Sea represents Water Baptism.
Yu dn t stand at the Baptismal pl; yu g int it s Gd said, "Wherefre criest thu unt me? speak unt the children f Israel, that they g frward: (v. 15). Yu dn t stand still at the water and watch; Gd is saying yu have t g thrugh the water. When we mve, Gd mves and if we walk by faith and nt by sight, the LORD Jehvah, wh has pwer and wh can breathe and part the sea, des the wrk. Dn t tell smene t stand still when Jehvah is with them. Mve FORWARD & d what He said. Ex. 3:13-15 - I AM THAT I AM Mses asks Gd in v. 13, Behld, [when] I cme unt the children f Israel, and shall say unt them, The Gd f yur fathers hath sent me unt yu; and they shall say t me, What [is] his name? what shall I say unt them?" I AM THAT I AM (v. 14) is nt Gd's name but Gd tells Mses t say unt the children f Israel, I AM hath sent me unt yu (v. 14) Gd answers the name questin in v. 15 The LORD Gd [JEHOVAH ELOHIM] this is my name fr ever, and this is my memrial unt all generatins." Mses respnse t Gd telling Him t say I AM hath sent me unt yu (v. 14) is But, behld, they will nt believe me, nr hearken unt my vice: fr they will say, The LORD hath nt appeared unt thee (Ex. 4:1) Mses was nt excited abut this When Gd shwed up elsewhere, He shwed up as Jehvah this and that: Jehvah Jireh t Abraham (Gen. 22:14) Jehvah Rhi t David (Psa. 23:1) Jehvah Rapha when healing the waters (Ex. 15:26) Jehvah Tsaba (Js. 5:14-15) Mses asked Gd what name t say and with the respnse I AM THAT I AM He was cnvinced the peple wuldn t believe him at all and it wuldn t wrk Mses expected Gd t d things Mses' way I AM THAT I AM in Hebrew is prnunced eh yeh ă šer eh yeh That is nt what Gd said t tell the peple but t tell them I AM eh yeh sent yu rather than Jehvah this r Jehvah that Jesus is the name that is higher than all f these ther names LORD Gd is His saving name frm Egypt that shwed the pwer He demnstrated t the peple t deliver them frm earthly stuff There is nthing Jehvah Gd did in the Old Testament that wuld deliver r ttally REMIT sins because it is nt pssible that the bld f bulls and f gats shuld take away sins (Heb. 10:4) The LORD Gd shwed up as I AM THAT I AM but that was nt a name r a nun; I AM was a VERB used in the imperfect sense, first persn, singular Imperfect means the actin is nt yet cmpleted. I AM eh yeh is a verb shwing us that Gd, when yu need Him, is ging t take actin. Gd is ging t d smething, becme smething, wrk! That is frm the wrd Asher (S:834) and is translated because, every, fr, that, which, whatsever, when, where, whilst, whither, wh. I AM THAT I AM was saying t Mses: with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacb they didn t get the JEHOVAHs r really see the pwer and breath that Gd had but Mses wuld get t see His pwer, His actin. Gd wanted Mses t tell them I AM, I m ging t d THAT. What is that? "I m ging t d fr / because / that / which / whatsever /when / where /
while / whither. I m ging t d whatever I want t d when I want t d it hwever I want t d it. It s nbdy else s business hw I be Gd. Heb. 11:6 -...fr he that cmeth t Gd must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder f them that diligently seek him. HE IS is a verb, nt a nun! If I cme t Gd I already believe He s Gd s this verse is saying cme t Gd believing HE IS ging t d what I came t Him fr because He s all pwerful, all-knwing. Cincides with Ex. 3:14 Bttm Line: Since Mses wanted t tell them smething, Gd tld him t tell them I AM eh yeh: I ll d what I want t d, hw I want t d, when I want t d it. I wn t tell yu befrehand but I ll shw up when yu need me t and I will take actin. Psa. 83:18 - That [men] may knw that thu, whse name alne [is] JEHOVAH, [art] the mst high ver all the earth. Everybdy refers t Gd as Gd (Gen. 1:1 - In the beginning Gd") LORD was His persnal name in the Old Testament and nly ne Gd ever knwn as JEHOVAH r Yahweh The Jews stpped using His persnal name, 300 years befre Christ utlawed it JESUS is a name higher than Jehvah / Yahweh & the devil wants t stp the use f that name
