Rosh Hashanah is the beginning of a new year. And each Rosh Hashanah is a new beginning for each of us. It is a day when we think about all the things we can do to make this new year a really great year! On Rosh Hashanah, we celebrate when God created the world. Do you know how many days it took for God to create the whole world? SIX! Six Days to Make the World by Lisa Baydush 1-2-3, 4-5-6, it took six days to make the world (2x) In the beginning, light and dark (echo) In the beginning, day and night (echo); Oh (chorus) Then came the land, the sky and sea (echo) Then came the flowers and the trees (echo); Oh (chorus) Next came the sun, the moon and stars (echo) Next came the animals, birds and fish (echo); Oh (chorus) Last came the people, Adam and Eve (echo) Last came the people, you and me (echo); oh (chorus) On the seventh day, God took a rest (echo) That s why Shabbat is our day of rest (echo); Oh (chorus) When God created light and dark; day and night; land, sky and sea; sun, moon and stars; and animals, birds and fish, God said: It was tov, good, complete. But when God created woman and man, God did not say it was tov. Our rabbis explain that the world was not complete, and that God created people to be God s partners in the ongoing work of creation. Will you help God make this a beautiful world? Painting a Beautiful World by Lisa Baydush I m gonna paint a beautiful world, do you wanna paint with me?
