NOTES Not your ordinary conference annual meeting! (CDC, June 22-24, Bluffton, Ohio) Looking for a fun, educational, and inspirational family day trip? Check out the Family Day activities at the CDC annual meeting on Thursday, June 22 on Bluffton University's campus. The kids can learn about blacksmithing and peacemaking as they watch guns become garden tools. Other events include recreation; crafts, activities, and stories for children at the Lion and Lamb Peace Center; a prayer seminar; picnic supper; worship, and more.. Dr. Hart will be giving a plenary on Friday, June 23 from 1:45-3:15 in the Marbeck Center Commons on the Bluffton University campus and a workshop from 3:45-5:15 in Centennial Hall, also on campus. Our youth leave for the national Mennonite convention in Orlando in just 2 weeks thanks so much for making this trip, and all the faith-building experiences it offers, a reality for our youth! Please keep the following youth in your thoughts and prayers as they attend summer camp at Friedenswald, and that it may be a transformative time in their faith journeys. Pastor Renee Kanagy ATTENDANCE LAST WEEK 76 with 7 visitors MC USA Convention On June 5, Ervin Stutzman invited delegates to the MC USA General Assembly in Orlando to participate in an orientation regarding the delegate sessions. This was helpful as the business sessions are dramatically different this year because of the Future Church Summit. Carol Wise will lead a brief training on History Matters: Elder LGBTQ Strengths and Challenges, Inclusive Pastors will report on what is happening in their congregations, and Cindy Lapp will lead a conversation about the State of our Movement and what is needed in this particular time. Pray for their tutor, Alberto Parchmont. May God s wisdom and guidance be with him as he leads the students in their weekly meetings. May God continue to bless him as he gives his time to this ministry. 7
Book Club Book Club will meet on Sunday, July 2 after church at Ault Park. The book to be discussed is "The Underground Railroad" by Colson Whitehead. Please bring a dish to share. Join the Lunch Bunch to extend the conversation and fellowship after service each week. Sometimes we visit a local restaurant, sometimes we pack a lunch and dine here.
