Lessons & Carols Sunday, March 10 th, 10 AM Although we normally associate the term "carol" with the season of Christmas, a "carol" is in fact any hymn, song, or anthem which is specific to a season of the church; in this case, the season of Lent and the story of the Passion of Jesus This historic service tells the story in seven short Bible readings, interspersed with the singing of carols, hymns, and anthems. This year the service will take place during the 10 AM service on March 10 th.

Pastoral Note: Wren Bynoe, as artist from the Island of Bequia, who lived with Roy and Ellie Chellis while a student at BU, has informed us that Fr. Adams, the priest who worked in Bequia, died February 16, 2019 in Bequia after a short illness. Fr. Adams went on to become the Archdeacon of the Genedines and served the region faithfully. He was a great priest and human being. A joy to know, as many say. May Fr. Adams rest in peace and rise in glory. Father John + Birthdays: 2/26 Don Williams 3/1 Sue Jones 2/27 Bill Freeman Virginia Gillette 2/28 Jessica Dieffenbacher Altar Flowers: The flowers on the altar this Sunday are given in loving memory of Robert and Dorothy Wells from Carl and Sue Kinne. Flower Memorials Due to the penitential nature of Lent, simple greens will adorn our altar until Palm Sunday. The Easter lilies will enhace our celebration of the risen Lord on Easter Sunday. Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper Tuesday, March 5 th, 6 to 7 PM As is tradition at St. Paul s we will be holding a Pancake Supper on Tuesday, March 5. This is a longstanding tradition in the church as a way to use up heavy, fatty foods before the Lenten Season begins. All are welcome to join us. Bring a friend or two. A free will offering will be taken. Ash Wednesday Breakfast For those of you who will be attending the 7:00 a.m. service on Ash Wednesday, come join us for breakfast afterwards at the Pantheon! Good friends, good food, good time! Cooks Needed! Do you have a favorite soup you like to make? An easy casserole? We are looking for a few folks to provide a simple supper for our Lenten series. Figure on about 35 people, a free will offering will be taken to cover the cost of the groceries. Speak with Fr. John or Jennifer Westermann if you would like to assist with our own Feeding of the Five Thousand. Makes 35 sound easy now, doesn t it? There is a sign-up sheet on the table in the back of Church.
