We gather in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen Confession and Forgiveness Let us come into the light of Christ, confessing our need for God s mercy. Silence is kept for reflection. Almighty God, We confess that we are often not at peace with others or with ourselves. We bring to you all that pulls us apart: discord in our families, violence in our world, and our own conflicted hearts. In your mercy, Lord, heal us. Reconnect us to one another and to you. Let peace reign over all the earth, through the Prince of Peace, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen In Christ the Word who has come to dwell with us, God has given us grace upon grace, forgiveness that is stronger than our sins, and love that can heal every broken heart. Hear this Word of God s pardon and peace: In the name of Jesus our Savior, you are free from all your sins. Rise, shine, for your light has come. Thanks be to God. Anthem 9:00 Goliath Williams/Martin Celebration Singers 10:30 Lord, Listen to Your Children Praying arr. Jack Schrader Middle School Choir The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. And also with you. Prayer of the Day God of the journey, your call to each of us is to love. In that love may we trust that your Spirit will guide us along the way. Lead us from division to unity, from fear to faith, from shame to grace. May we hear your voice in this worship today and may we be transformed, renewed, and enlightened. We pray all this in the Holy name of Jesus, the life bringer. Amen 3

Lesson 1 Peter 2:9-10 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God s own people, in order that you may proclaim the mighty acts of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Once you were not a people, but now you are God s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. *** We welcome children to Dock Children s Education at this time.*** Ensure your child is wearing a nametag with name and grade level. See front of yellow bulletin insert for pickup locations. Anthem The Ground Pleni sunt caeli et terra gloria tua. Osanna, Osanna in excelsis. Benedictus qui venit in nomine Domini. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. Sacrament of Holy Baptism 9:00 Emerson James Argetsinger child of Megan and Daniel Argetsinger 10:30 Maddox Douglas Scott Holisky child of Katherine and Adam Holisky Apostles Creed I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen Holy Gospel Luke 5:27-32 All (sung): Glory to you, O Lord. After this Jesus went out and saw a tax collector named Levi, sitting at the tax booth; and he said to him, Follow me. And he got up, left everything, and followed him. Then Levi gave a great banquet for him in his house; and there was a large crowd of tax collectors and others sitting at the table with them. The Pharisees and their scribes were complaining to his disciples, saying, Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners? Jesus answered, Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick; I have come to call not the righteous but sinners to repentance. The Gospel of the Lord. All (sung): Praise to you, O Christ. Sermon Called From or Called To? Pastor Michael D. Carlson 6
