Can you explain to me how we view Jesus in Unity and New Thought? D. Edwards Great question; In Unity, we often refer to Jesus as being our Elder Brother or our Way shower, meaning he is our Master teacher and guide on living in and through the vibration of The Christ Consciousness. We believe that Jesus wasn t necessarily the only son of God, but that we are all the sons and daughters of God because we are all created in the image and likeness of what God is. Jesus said himself that it wasn t he who did the works but the Father within. Many of us believe that when he stated No man cometh unto the Father, but by me, he wasn t necessarily speaking as Jesus the man, but as the Christ Presence within him. We behold Jesus as being one of the greatest examples of expressive Christ energy and love, and for being literally one of the greatest teachers to walk the face of earth. I meditate often on the vibrations of Jesus and call upon his wisdom to surround me and guide me. Try it and discover for yourself who and what he represents for you on your journey. You may have heard us often say on Sunday mornings here at Unity There is only One Presence, and One Power in the universe God the good, omnipotent. I allowed that to become my Truth many years ago when I first found New Thought and it has remained an anthem for me ever since. Satan, or the devil, metaphysically represents negativity, or the adversary which makes much more sense to me than there being an entity who is forever stalking us to lead us into darkness and temptation; we do that well enough on our own. Positive or negative is always a choice. When we realize that there really is only ONE POWER in the universe and we focus on that power as being GOOD we no longer blame situations and choices we make as an outside energy, but realize it was the misuse of our power of goodness. We simply make another choice to realign ourselves back into our Truth. Let God, let good, be the vision you focus upon in your life and let it guide your way.
