PARISH NURSE HOURS Mondays 3:30 4:30 PM Challenge your brain in 60 seconds or less. It is all about new experiences, which require the brain to do some work because it s encountering something it has not experienced before. Take a new route to work or to the store. Concentrate on your breathing for 60 seconds or do 60 seconds of jumping jacks. Try something new with those little moments in your day and forge new brain cell connections. NO HANDSHAKING during the flu season. Elbows only! This will continue thru the winter season. THE EVANGELISM /LAY MINISTRY BOARD is seeking volunteers to bring home communion to shutins on Communion Sundays. This is a very simple yet wonderful way to serve our fellow members of our congregation. Please contact the church office or Marijo Nabben at 686-4277 if interested. If you are in need or know someone in need of, or would like home communion, please contact the church office. LWR QUILTING AND KIT WORKSHOP Please come and join us for our Lutheran World Relief Workshop the 1st, 3rd, and 5th (if there is one) Thursdays of the month. We meet from 1-4pm. Sewing quilts and preparing many different types of kits to send to the Lutheran World Relief is our mission. Come when you can, choose what you do and leave when you must. ($8,781.needed per week to meet expenses) GIVEHUB KIOSK IS LOCATED BY THE STAIRS TO THE CHOIR LOFT - For debit/credit card donations to Zion. OUTDOOR ELECTRONIC SIGN Current donations/pledges: $6,190. The approximate cost is $37,000. The properties board and the PPC will proceed with the sign if 80% of the cost is raised before the project is started. Donations or pledges toward this project are appreciated. You will improve balance, feel stronger, remain independent, & have more energy. This is a 1 hour class 2x per week. You can stand or sit, weights are provided at no cost. Registration is required. Contact Tammy or Jennifer at RSVP or the RRV at 218-281-8289 to sign up. HOSPICE OF THE RED RIVER VALLEY welcomes individuals to join its volunteer team as companionship volunteers. RSVP HANDY MAN SERVICE Trained volunteers enable seniors to maintain their independence and safety by providing minor home maintenance repairs such as replace batteries, lightbulbs, install grab bars or smoke detectors, weatherization projects, etc. with no charge. Materials or supplies are paid for by the client, scholarships are available for those in need. Call RSVP at 218-281-8288. HERITAGE COMMUNITY CENTER first Monday of the Month fundraiser supper, 5-6 PM. Minimum donation $7; proceeds to running the Center. Open to all ages.
