The purpose of our congregation is to worship God, who gives life through Word and Sacrament; to serve one another in love and fellowship; and to proclaim forgiveness and salvation to all through Jesus Christ alone. THE PRAYER OF THE CHURCH P: Everlasting and merciful God, we beseech You in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ: C: To have mercy upon us and to hear our prayer. P: Look in mercy upon Your Church. Protect it and sanctify it by Your truth. May Your Word be taught in its purity and Your Sacraments be rightly administered. Grant unto Your Church faithful pastors who shall declare Your truth with power and shall live according to Your will. Send forth laborers into Your harvest and open the door of faith unto all unbelievers and unto the people of Israel. In mercy remember the enemies of Your Church and grant to them repentance unto life. C: O God, in the multitude of Your mercy, hear us in the truth of Your salvation. Wed., Feb. 27 at 7 pm in Trinity Chapel - The Bethany Lutheran College Concert Band performs on tour in both February and March. Their program features a variety of selections that will entertain and educate audiences of all ages. Included are several beautiful, lyrical tunes: Be Thou My Vision, Salvation Is Created, and Nostalgia, while other selections will be both powerful and exciting: John Philip Sousa s The Thunderer, Hans Zimmer s Pirates of The Caribbean: At World s End, and John Powell s How to Train Your Dragon. Moms supporting Moms in raising godly children Moms On a Mission Spring Schedule: The Peace/Mt. Olive Moms On a Mission (M.O.M.s) bible study will resume in February and will meet through the month of April. Morning and evening groups will be studying different curriculums this session. New mothers welcome to join any study at any time. Amanda Madson, and members of her family, wish to thank the members of Peace congregation for all the kindnesses shown our family during Amanda s illness: The food that has been brought in, the hours that have been spent to watch over her, the little visits, the greeting cards and written messages, the pastoral care provided by our two faithful pastors. And all of these kindnesses were topped off when about a dozen of our church choir members gathered around Amanda s bed on Wednesday evening and sang hymns for nearly an hour. What a treat that was! In 1 Peter 2 it says: Dear Friends...live such good lives... that they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day He visits us. To all of you, Amanda and members of her family say: THANK YOU!
