Knight of the Month The Knight of the Month for July went to Norman Daniels. Thanks for all you do. Family of the Month The Family of the Month for July went to the Brad Hartel family. For the past 2 years you served as Grand Knight, and you and your family did a great job. Council History A FAMILY MAN I remember this man from back in the early l970 s, we all attended Sacred Heart Church in Caro and had small groups of couples that met in homes to get better acquainted and practice our religion in a catholic manner. Joe and Sally would help us understand some of the more complex issues of the church, as they both had attended catholic colleges in their extended education. We all had large families and we were all close in our struggle to make things better for our families. Joe had married Sally Delaney in May of 1954 and she precedes him in death in March of 2002. Joe was trained as an electrical engineer and was employed by the Detroit Edison Company as a marketing engineer until his retirement. Sally was also employed at the Detroit Edison building for many years as they raised a large family of six children, Mary who lives in Highland Park, Ill., Joe who lives in Singapore China, Michael who lives right in his home town of Caro, and has been our financial Secretary for many years. James from the state of Maryland, Robert of Naperville, Illinois, Kathleen of Colleyville, Texas and eight grandchildren continue this family to this point today. Joe Bauerschmidt had served his country in the United States Navy having served on the USS Shangri-la at the atomic bomb test in the Marshall Islands, Operation Crossroads. His service to Sacred Heart Parish has not been forgotten, also local service organizations and especially the Area Lake Huron Cub Scouts. This is one more Knight who lived his life in a good catholic manner, we can be proud of, till we meet again Joe and Sally we have not forgotten you. Respectfully Submitted: Richard T. Bertrand, P.G.K. Aug. 1, 2010 Woman s Auxiliary K/C Auxiliary There will be no meeting for the month of August. A reminder that our first scrapbooking date is set for Saturday, September 18th. You will be contacted by an officer or helper on what grocery supplies you might be asked to donate for this event. If you have any questions, please contact me at 673-8002. Carol Papp, President K/C Auxiliary K of C Seniors Next meeting Aug. 16 2010 Please remember in your prayers: Cindi Roose, Fred & Alyce Haase, Frank & Joann Baranski, Bill & Virginia Touchette, Anna Albin, Anna Sobek, Dick & Barb Tetil, Onna Lee LaPratt, Dick Dievendorf, Pat & Clare Frick, and Leonard Strozeski who lost his wife Loretta on June 11th. Our July luncheon has been cancelled. Please watch the K of C newsletter and the Sacred Heart bulletin for further information regarding our next luncheon. Sharon Vandenbossche, Secretary We the council had decided to build our hall with all electrical services back then, and what better man was there, then Joe to engineer our dream. I remember the plans on rough drawn paper, but it all worked well in our dream of the future, we had the best.
