Please join us so that we may spend a few minutes visiting. ~ God bless your worship! ~ O God of love, You offer an ever-flowing fountain of forgiveness though Jesus, Your Son. Please fill our emptiness with Your love, that in drinking freely of Your water of life, we may know the joy of true worship and live to Your glory. Today, I pray for the sick, the sorrowing, the hurting, the lonely, the homebound, and the unemployed, asking that You make their lives full again. May my bond to Jesus, formed in the waters of my Baptism be a constant joy in my life. In His name. Amen. March 19, 2017 Third Sunday in Lent 3 He Chose To Forgive Us HYMN Savior, When in Dust to Thee Tune of LSB 380 Savior, when in dust to Thee Low we bow the adoring knee, When, repentant, to the skies Scarce we lift our weeping eyes, Oh, by all Thy pains and woe Suffered once for man below, Bending from Thy throne on high, Hear our penitential cry! By Thy helpless infant years, By Thy life of want and tears, By Thy days of sore distress In the savage wilderness, By the dread, mysterious hour Of the insulting Tempter's power, Turn, O turn, a favoring eye, Hear our penitential cry! By Thine hour of dire despair, By Thine agony of prayer, By the cross, the nail, the thorn, Piercing spear, and torturing scorn, By the gloom that veiled the skies O'er the dreadful sacrifice, Listen to our humble cry, Hear our penitential cry! By Thy deep expiring groan, By the sad sepulchral stone, By the vault whose dark abode Held in vain the rising God, Oh, from earth to heaven restored, Mighty, reascended Lord, Listen, listen, to the cry Of our penitential cry!
INVOCATION 4 Third Sunday in Lent March 19, 2017 Pastor: People: In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. CONFESSION AND FORGIVENESS Pastor: Almighty God, we know and admit that we are sinners. We are conceived and born sinful and we continue in that sin by our heedless thoughts, careless words, and loveless deeds. Indeed, we deserve God s punishment now and eternally. When we reflect honestly on our lives, we readily see that we are in need of repentance and renewal that come only through our Lord Jesus Christ. Let us then make confession to our gracious God. People: Pastor: People: Almighty God, I repent of my sins in thought and in word and in deed. You know my failings and my transgressions. Be merciful to me, and for the sake of Jesus, grant me Your forgiveness so that, as one Your redeemed people, I may find rest in You and with refreshed heart serve You in time and in eternity. In the stead and by the command of my Lord Jesus Christ and by His authority, I forgive you all your sins in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. HYMN OF PRAISE All Hail the Power of Jesus Name LSB 549

Revelation 22:20 Pastor: O Lord Jesus Christ, only Son of the Father, in giving us Your body and blood to eat and to drink, You lead us to remember and confess Your holy cross and passion, Your blessed death, Your rest in the tomb, Your resurrection from the dead, Your ascension into heaven, and Your coming for the final judgment. So remember us in Your kingdom and teach us to pray: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven; give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses

March 19, 2017 Third Sunday in Lent 7 PRAYER SCRIPTURE READINGS Romans 5: 10 (NLT) 10 For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. Romans 2: 14 (NLT) 14 Even Gentiles, who do not have God s written law, show that they know his law when they instinctively obey it, even without having heard it. Colossians 2: 14 (PHILLIPS) Your sins have been blotted out by Jesus. He has forgiven you all your sins: he has utterly wiped out the written evidence of broken commandments which always hung over our heads, and has completely annulled it by nailing it to the cross Colossians 1: 20-23 (MSG) All the broken and dislocated pieces of the universe people and things, animals and atoms get properly fixed and fit together in vibrant harmonies, all because of his death, his blood that poured down from the cross. You yourselves are a case study of what he does. At one time you all had your backs turned to God, thinking rebellious thoughts of him, giving him trouble every chance you got. But now, by giving himself completely at the Cross, actually dying for you, Christ brought you over to God s side and put your lives together, whole and holy in his presence. You don t walk away from a gift like that! You stay grounded and steady in that bond of trust, constantly tuned in to the Message, careful not to be distracted or diverted.

March 19, 2017 Third Sunday in Lent 9 MESSAGE He Chose To Forgive us Colossians 2: 13-14 (MSG) If it s an initiation ritual you re after, you ve already been through it by submitting to baptism. Going under the water was a burial of your old life; coming up out of it was a resurrection, God raising you from the dead as he did Christ. When you were stuck in your old sin-dead life, you were incapable of responding to God. God brought you alive right along with Christ! Think of it! All sins forgiven, the slate wiped clean, that old arrest warrant canceled and nailed to Christ s cross.
