Warning of Persecution Matthew 10:16 25
1. Jesus commissions the Twelve to go to the House of Israel and proclaim the gospel of the kingdom with accompanying miracles of validation. (Matt. 10:5 8)! Matt. 10:5, These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying: Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans. Matt. 10:6, But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Matt. 10:7, And as you go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Matt. 10:8, Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.
2. Jesus instructed His disciples about the response to their message (Matt. 10:9 15).! Matt. 10:9, Provide neither gold nor silver nor copper in your money belts, Matt. 10:10, nor bag for your journey, nor two tunics, nor sandals, nor staffs; for a worker is worthy of his food.
1 Tim. 5:17, Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and doctrine. 1 Tim. 5:18, For the Scripture says, You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain, [Deut. 25:4] and, The laborer is worthy of his wages. [Lev. 19:13]
Matt. 10:22, And you will be hated by all for My name s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved [delivered].! Matt. 10:23, When they persecute you in this city, flee to another. For assuredly, I say to you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes.
Matt. 24:9, Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name s sake. Matt. 24:10, And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.
Matt. 24:11, Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. Matt. 24:12, And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.
Matt. 24:13, But he who endures to the end shall be saved [sozo]. Matt. 24:14, And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
Dan. 7:13, I was watching in the night visions, and behold, One like the Son of Man, coming with the clouds of heaven! He came to the Ancient of Days, and they brought Him near before Him.
Matt. 16:28, Assuredly, I say to you, there are some standing here who shall not taste death till they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom. Matt. 24:30, Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
Matt. 24:44, Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect. Matt. 25:31, When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory.
Matt. 26:64, Jesus said to him, It is as you said. Nevertheless, I say to you, hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.
Matt. 10:16, Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. Matt. 10:17, But beware of men, for they will deliver you up to councils and scourge you in their synagogues. Matt. 10:18, You will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles.
