From our Principal As we come back after the Easter break refreshed and renewed, one thing is certain the Resurrection is the central fact of our whole Christian faith. The Resurrection rearranged hearts and minds offering new hope to all people, empowering a new charity and a new forgiveness. This was true in the time of Jesus and for all Christians today. Our belief in the Resurrection informs us that Jesus is a living presence amongst us and that our faith should never stand still. Because our Lord is a living Lord, there are new wonders waiting to be discovered all the time. The Resurrection assures us that God never gives up on us. Family Masses are celebrated every second Sunday of the month. These Masses invite our young students to celebrate Mass and be actively involved in the Sunday ministry. This Sunday, we once again celebrate a Family Mass. The importance of this Sunday will also be the fare-welling of Fr Maurice as our long standing Parish Priest. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Fr Maurice for his commitment to St Patrick's School. He has nurtured the faith journey of all students, families and staff by sharing his own deep faith and understanding the diversity and richness of our school. From our aprim Jesus rises to New Life at Easter The events of the First Easter affected, and continues to affect, the world. The mystery of Jesus death and resurrection opened up a completely new way of life for the disciples and handed them the responsibility of continuing the mission of Jesus in their lives. Today, Christians are called to be modern day disciples and live by Jesus messages. Each year we follow Jesus path during Holy Week, celebrate the message of God s love and feel hopeful of God s Kingdom growing through us experiencing new beginnings at Easter. The understanding of what it means to be given new life in Christ is growing as we reconnect with the Easter Story and hear Jesus messages of love, service, compassion, respect and care for all of God s creation. Easter is the joyful time during which we celebrate Jesus having new life in each of us. We remember God s call to work at making the world a better place. The season of Easter continues until the Feast of Pentecost, May 20. Fr Maurice s Final Mass at St Patrick s Church This Sunday is our St Patrick s Parish Family Mass and Fr Maurice s final Parish Mass at St Patrick s Church. We have some students helping during the Mass with the Offertory Procession and Reading a prayer. We hope you can join us at 8.30am on Sunday 8 th April. Sacraments Meeting The First Eucharist Parent Meeting is on Wednesday 11 th April in St Margaret Mary s Parish Hall at 9.15am and repeated at 7pm. Children are welcome to attend the 7pm session. This is a compulsory meeting for one or both parents and all will be asked to choose their times for Confirmation and First Eucharist at this meeting. I look forward to seeing you there. Please be there a little earlier to choose times for Confirmation and First Eucharist. Project Compassion Boxes Thank you for those who were able to collect donations in the Project Compassion boxes during Lent. Please bring your boxes back to school before the end of term and our Social Justice group will count the money donated and forward to Caritas. If you would like a receipt for the money your family donated, please fill in the slip at the top of the box with details needed. Thank you. May God bless you all during the Easter Season Anne-Marie Platten School Fees 2018 A friendly reminder to those families, who do not have a direct debit set up, that Term 1 fees are due and payable by the last day of school which is the 13/4/18. Please note that the Composite Fee should have been finalised by the first week of the school term. We offer direct debit, BPay, EFTPOS and also direct deductions from Centrelink payments. When this direct debit payment option is selected your school fee payment is calculated over the full school year right up until the 31 st of January 2019. This means smaller payments are required making this method the most affordable way to budget for this commitment. It is not too late to set up this facility so please come into the office or ring me on 83034500 if one of these options would better suit your financial requirements. A number of families have NOT applied for School Card 2018. This form is available from the front office or you can ring me on 83034500 and I can place a form in your child s school bag. This year the combined family income level has been increased from $37000 to approximately $58000. A completed form is required each year. Premier's Reading Challenge for 2018 1. The Premier s Reading Challenge is open to all students from Reception to Year 12 in South Australian government and non-government schools as well as home education students. 2. Students are challenged to read 12 books from the start of the school year until the first Friday in September. 3. Students will record the titles and authors of the books they read on the appropriate Student Reading Record on the Challenge website. 4. Teachers, teacher librarians, public librarians or parents/carers must sign each entry on the Student Reading Record. This indicates that a student has read (or shared in the reading of) a book at an appropriate literacy level and that the book title and author are accurate. 5. For Reception - Year 7 students, at least 8 of the 12 books will be chosen from the Premier s Reading Challenge booklist at the appropriate year level or at an appropriate literacy level for each student. A maximum of 4 books can be the student's own choice and should be of a similar standard to books on the list. St. Patrick s School Newsletter Thursday 2018 Term 1 Week 10 Trong khi chúng ta trở lại sau kỳ nghỉ Phục Sinh tươi tỉnh và đổi mới, có điều chắc chắn Sự Phục Sinh là sự kiện trung tâm của đức tin Ki Tô Hữu. Sự Phục Sinh nhằm tái phối trì lại tâm hồn và suy nghĩ cho tất cả chúng ta niềm hy vọng mới, áp dụng sự vị tha và tha thứ mới. Đây là sự thật trong thời của Chúa Giêsu và cho tất cả Ki Tô Hữu ngày nay. Niềm tin vào Sự Phục Sinh cho chúng ta biết rằng Đức Giêsu đang hiện diện giữa chúng ta và đức tin chúng ta không bao giờ ngừng tại chỗ. Bởi vì Chúa chúng ta là đấng đang sống, luôn có những điều kỳ diệu chờ đợi được khám phá. Sự Phục Sinh cho chúng ta một lòng tin chắc chắn rằng Chúa không bao giờ bỏ chúng ta. Thánh Lễ Gia Đình được tổ chức mỗi Chủ Nhật thứ hai hàng tháng. Những thánh lễ này là cơ hội cho các thiếu niên chúng ta tham dự và tham gia tích cực vào trong phụng vụ ngày Chúa Nhật. Chúa Nhật này, chúng ta lại có thánh lễ Gia Đình. Điều Quan trọng là thánh lễ Chúa Nhật này cũng để tạm biệt cha Maurice với tư cách là cha xứ lâu đời. Tôi nhân cơ hội ngày này, cám ơn Cha Maurice vì những cống hiến của cha cho trường St Patrick. Ngài đã hướng dẫn các em học sinh, các gia đình trong hành trình đức tin, bằng chia sẻ đức tin sâu sa của ngài và sự hiểu biết thông cảm về tính đa dạng cũng như phong phú của trường chúng ta. Chúa Giêsu Phục Sinh trong đời sống mới Niêm vui Phục Sinh tiếp tục ảnh hưởng thế giới. Màu nhiệm về cái chết và sự phục sinh mở ra một đời sống hoàn toàn mới mẻ cho các tông đồ và làm cho họ trở nên trách nhiệm hơn trong việc nối tiếp sứ mạng của Chúa Giêsu trong đời sống của mình. Mỗi năm chúng ta bước theo hành trình của Chúa Giêsu trong mùa Phục Sinh. Phục sinh là thời gian vui mừng trong đó chúng ta ăn mừng đời sống mới của Chúa Giêsu trong mỗi người chúng ta.chúng ta nhớ rằng Chúa mời gọi chúng ta hãy làm việc để cải thiện thế giới này. Mùa Phục Sinh tiếp tục cho đến lễ Hiện xuống, vào ngày 20 tháng 5. Thánh Lễ cuối của Cha Maurice ở nhà thờ St Patrick. Chú nhật này là thánh lễ cuối của cha Maurice tại giáo họ St Patrick. Có một số em học sinh sẽ dâng của lễ và đoạ bài đọ. Hy vọng quý vị tham gia vào lúc 8g30 sáng Chủ Nhật 8 tháng Tư. Họp về Bí Tích Buổi họp cho Phụ Huynh về chịu Bí Tích vào Thứ Tư, 11 tháng Tư tại hội trường St Margaret lúc 9g15 sáng và được lặp lại vào lúc 7g tối. Các em nhỏ có thể đến cuộc họp lúc 7g. Đây là cuộc họp bó buộc cho phụ huynh, một hay 2 người, xin chọn giờ cho Thêm Sức và Xưng tội lần đầu. Ước mong gặp lại quý vị. Hộp Tiền Tình Thương Cám ơn một số quý vị đã hoàn lại Hộp Tiền Tình Thương. Xin mang lại trước ngày cuối của học kỳ và nhóm học sinh phụ trách sẽ đếm tiền để gửi đến cơ quan Caritas.
