Page 3 Disciples in Mission Welcome to New Parishioners No matter what your present status in the Catholic Church, No matter what your current family or marital situation, No matter what your current personal history, age, background, race, etc., No matter what your own self-image; you are invited, welcomed, accepted, loved and respected here at The Collaborative of Saint Francis of Assisi Parish and Saint Joseph Parish. If you are new to the parish, please introduce yourself to a member of the Parish Staff after Mass or at your convenience. The disciples return to tell Jesus about the work he had sent them to do. Take a few moments today to look back over the past week to those times when you, like the disciples, did works of charity or mercy. Offer a prayer of gratitude to God for those times you spoke a healing word, or offered comfort to a person in their loss, or welcomed a newcomer to your parish. Ask for the grace to respond to the opportunities that will arise for you this week. Sacrament of Matrimony Couples should make arrangements with one of our priests or deacon at least six months before the wedding. Pastoral Care of the Sick and Elderly Please contact the Parish Center Office to make arrangements, if you are going into the hospital, or have a family member who is homebound and would like to receive the Sacrament of the Sick. If a family member cannot come to church and would like to receive Communion at home, please notify us. News about our Collaborative Pastoral Plan One of the key parts of the Disciples in Mission Plan of the Archdiocese of Boston is that every Collaborative develop a Pastoral Plan which articulates the Vision, Goals and Priorities of its mission. Our Pastoral Plan calls for us to come together as a faith community committed to making disciples of all nations. It is with great joy that we announce Cardinal Seán O Malley has approved our Collaborative s Pastoral Plan! Now, the work begins. The success of our plan depends on the generosity of time, talent and prayer from our parishioners. There are so many ways in which every one of us can make a difference and get involved! For your reference, we have posted our Collaborative Pastoral Plan on our website at www.medfordcollaborative.org. We encourage you to read it and become acquainted with it. In the Fall, we will hold Town Hall Meetings to discuss it with you. Stay tuned for upcoming dates! In the meantime, please don t hesitate to contact our Parish Office if you have any questions or would like to participate in any of the ministry opportunities identified in our Pastoral Plan.

St. Joseph School Bridge to Kindergarten Program Saint Joseph School understands and appreciates the importance of the whole child. If your child would benefit from the gift of time, before entering Kindergarten, this is the program for you! This program is designed to promote a level of readiness skills necessary for a Kindergarten classroom. The Bridge program introduces children at a slower pace to the structure and routine of a Kindergarten classroom. Teachers encourage emerging learners through a variety of ways focusing on the development of each individual child. The Bridge is a five (5) full day program which includes Music, Art, Spanish, and Physical Education all taught by a specialist outside of their classroom. For more information, call us at 781-396-3636, email us at info@stjosephschoolmedford.com or visit our website at www.stjosephschoolmedford.com.
