SUNDAY : Ponder and Pray And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. John 14:13 According to John Piper, prayer is designed by God to display His fullness (power) and our need. We get help and He gets the glory. Prayer glorifies God because it puts us in the position of the thirsty (needy) and God in the position of power. When we pray in Jesus name, the Father is glorified in the Son, and we receive joy from the answer to our prayer, Ask and you will receive and your joy will be complete. (John 16:24b) Pray for yourself and one another so that we will always pray and not lose heart knowing that it is to our Father s glory that we pray and we will receive joy from the answer to our prayer. MONDAY : The Nation & Nations Malaysia : The Malaysian predicament is essentially a moral crisis as reflected by the IMDB controversy which is giving rise to the current trend of ethnic and racial polarization. Pray for God s grace and mercy to be upon our nation during these testing times. Pray also that God will restore ethnical leadership, strengthen the medium of information and create alliances and relationships which can displace the current politics of fear, insecurity and hate. The National Security Council (NSC) Act empowers authorities to trample on human rights and act with impunity. - Pray against any move or situation whereby this Act will be translated into repressive new laws. TUESDAY : Workplace Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord you are serving. Colossians 3:23-24 God created work for His divine purpose of keeping us productive and have a meaningful life. It can be said that the greatest punishment for anyone in solitary confinement is to have absolutely nothing to do to occupy oneself. Pray that God will keep all His people occupied with productive activities from childhood right up to old age. Pray that we will not lose sight of the endless possibilities and opportunities to serve in His Kingdom. WEDNESDAY : Children s Life Our Kindergarten is part of the heritage of this church. This church started as an outreach of Ipoh Wesley Church which had its base in this Kindergarten. And from there CGMC was birthed. However, after many years of providing good education to children in the surrounding communities, the kindergarten is experiencing a drastic drop in the intake of students due to the ever changing nature of pre-school education. The
church is aware that major decisions need to be considered for this branch of our church ministry. Do pray with the Kindergarten Committee on the following points:- - whether to terminate our Kindergarten operation - to carry on by injecting more resources in terms of better qualified teachers and funding - how to source for such teachers and upgrade the school facilities - to consider changing the teaching curriculum to follow the Methodist School System. - And any other concerns. Pray for God s wisdom and guidance for the committee to make the right decisions for this heritage of our church. THURSDAY : Mission Malaysia is now going through a historical moment of political transformation which has impacted the prayer life of the church of Jesus Christ. Never before, had Christians from the various denominations been so united to intercede for the nation. This awakening has given birth to united prayer movements among the various churches around the country and for the churches in Ipoh do pray for:- The inter - church prayer gatherings initiated by Ipoh Pastors Fellowship The Prayer Altar for Ipoh City The coming 916 combined public gathering to pray for Malaysia Day on September 16, 2016 in YMCA, Ipoh. A successful conclusion to the 2-year 24/7 nationwide prayer movement to pray for the nation on 16/9/2016. It is indeed God s blessing in empowering our Methodist church through the years to initiate a prayer movement that culminated in 3 Prayer Conventions. Pray that our Methodist Church will continue to grow into A House of Prayer. FRIDAY : Family and church Praise the Lord for blessing us with 3 pastors who have shepherded 3 congregations i.e. the English, Chinese, and Bahasa successfully. Indeed we need to pray for our pastors and church leaders who faithfully sustain our vibrant and growing congregations. We must continue to provide prayer support for the 3 pastors and the church leaders. Pray for God s anointing for our pastors and church leaders to have a closer and more intimate walk with the Lord. Pray especially for our LCEC members that they are able to hear and perceive God s wisdom on how to manage and protect this harvest. Pray for unity and a shared vision among our church leaders in order to bring our church to the next level of development for His Kingdom. SATURDAY : Corporate Worship Services Worship is ENCOUNTERING GOD. Therefore pray for the Saturday and Sunday corporate worship services in our Church to be a time where people encounter God and be enriched with Biblical knowledge. May we experience transformation, embrace one another lovingly, and intentionally evangelize others.
