They consist of MERS students from grades 5-8. Performing along with them will be Manalapan Steel, a high school steel-drum band made up of students from the local area. Girls Who Code 3Part Series: HTML/CSS part # 2 Mondays : April 1, 8, 15, 6:00-9:00pm Girls Who Code is a national non-profit organization working to close the gender gap in technology and change the image of what a programmer looks like and does. Learn how to use HTML and CSS to make webpages. HTML is the markup language that you surround content with, to tell browsers about headings, lists, tables, etc. CSS is the stylesheet language that you style the page with, to tell browsers to change the color, font, layout, and more. The class will introduce students to programming concepts such as variables, logic, loops, functions, lists and dictionaries. The program instruction is project-based, so teens will code exciting programs as they learn new concepts. Teens will learn to create interesting graphics, and by the end of the series, they will be able to develop their own game! Students need no prior knowledge to join the class.
