AS THE SUN RISES IN THE EAST... Brethren, From the East Worshipful Joselito Sanchez The extreme heat in the valley is finally over! I love this time of the year because of the cooler weather and the amount of activity in the holidays associated with it. So much to do, yet so little time to do it in! I hope all of you my Brethren are enjoying this time of the year. Speaking of which, why not spend it with your brothers at Welcome Lodge #255? The lodge would be excited to be able to see brothers who cannot attend as often as they would like. Come by and say hi and also get acquainted with the new petitioners and the new Master Masons of our lodge. Brethren, during this time of year we again to celebrate the holiday season with our family and friends. Of course, the first of the holidays is Thanksgiving this month. With that, I would like to therefore dedicate this article to giving thanks to everyone individually as I am limited in space on this Trestleboard, but please know that I appreciate you for all you do and I am truly thankful. I would like to begin by first thanking the Supreme Architect of the Universe for without Him nothing would be possible. He has truly blessed me and my family, not with money and/or possessions, but with unconditional love and goodness making me among the richest men. He is everything! Secondly, I'd like to give thanks for my family and friends who have stood by my side through the ups and downs. They have made many sacrifices over the year, without their love, their understanding, and unwavering support that I would not be who I am today. Continual Thanks to Brethren such as WB Steve Roberts, WB Jimmy Barrera, WB Pat Cerdenola, WB Hermie Valdeabela, Brother Jack Cloud, Brother Norm Stewart, Brother Jim Withycombe, Brother Rupert Beckford, and Brothers who served on committees that have contributed to the improvements of our Lodge. Our Lodge has experienced many problems this year and without their help we would not be able to continue to meet as a Lodge. I would also like to thank all the Officers, Trustees, Committees and Brethren for their hard work and dedication to our Lodge and Masonry. It has been an honor and pleasure to work beside some of the best Masons that our Fraternity has to offer and I can't forget to thank Brother Mark Jeffries, Brother Roskin Metra, and again to Brother Jack who oversees our Trestleboard and Website in which we can communicate with our Brethren that we do not see regularly in our Lodge. I would specifically like to thank the Past Masters for their guidance, wisdom and good council. It is been so comforting to know that our Lodge has such a strong line of Past Masters still in the trenches serving the Lodge and the Craft. Finally, Thank you to all the Officers and Trustees (elected and appointed) that have been chosen to serve our Lodge in the upcoming year. We look forward to seeing many of the wonderful traditions of our Lodge continue as well as the necessary improvements to be made as we go forward. Congratulations to Brother Trinidad, Brother Simpson, Brother Xhang on being initiated in the Entered Apprentice Degree and Brother Morales on being passed to the Degree of Fellow Craft. Please don't forget November 20th is our School of Instruction. Mandatory for all Officers and Master Masons are invited to attend. The Host is Welcome Lodge #255. Dinner is at 6:30 pm and Hanford Lodge will exemplify the night's subject. Fraternally Yours, Joselito Sanchez, PM Master of the Lodge

From the West Brother Daniel Bautista WELCOME LODGE 255 ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARTY DEC. 13, 2014 Brethren, The month of October went by quick. We accomplished a lot and welcomed our newly Obligated Brother Xhang. I also congratulate Brother Morales for being pass to the Degree of Fellowcraft. In celebration of Thanksgiving this month, I would like to say, Thank You to all of the brethren for your extra efforts and for a job well done. Your hard work and dedication to our craft inspires everyone and set us to become a whole family under the canopy of heaven. Again as a reminder, December 13, 2014, is our lodge's Christmas Party. If you have no particular plans on this day, then you are being summoned to attend our Christmas Party. Brethren, your attendance is needed and I encourage you to come. Please look for more details in the next Tresleboard. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!! On the Level, Brother Daniel Bautista It s time again to plan another great night of fellowship and celebration. As the holidays quickly approach we need to start planning this event and the decoration of the lodge. As of December 1 st, it would be great if each Masonic body decorated their corner of the lobby with all of the holiday trimmings. Let s take pride in this event and make the old lodge festive and cheery this holiday season. This year for the party, we will hold a potluck style dinner, we will also have a photographer on board to take couples and family photos, a DJ with all of your favorites, Toys for Tots, possible gift exchanges and Santa will once again swing by Welcome Lodge for the event with his bag full of toys. We need volunteers for setting up the lodge for the party and for managing certain portions of the event. If you are interested, please contact Bro. Jack Cloud at (559) 381-2112 to offer your services. December 13, 2014 at 7pm More Information will follow once the event is fully planned regarding cost, events, and dress.

Brethren, From the South Brother Jack Cloud I d like to start by Congratulating Brother Guangfeng Xhang on his initiation as an Entered Apprentice Mason and Brother Jonathan Morales on being passed to the Degree of Fellowcraft. Both are important steps in the lifelong quest of Masonry. You may notice around the lodge, improvements continue to be made within the heads, the dining room and even in the lodge room itself. I would like to thank those brothers of the LMTA that contribute their time and talents to ensure that we continue to stay on top of improving our facility. It s not an easy task in today s financial environment but the following brothers continue to be relentless in their efforts, WB Steve Roberts, Brother Stretch Withycombe and Brother Norm Stewart. Thank you Brothers. As we move deeper into our holiday season, we should all remember our Brothers who have a hard time making it to lodge and especially the Widows and family of those Brothers who have moved on to the Exalted Lodge above. As Masons, we have a moral obligation to keep them in our thoughts and to assist them whenever possible. In 2015, I would like to challenge the brothers of Welcome Lodge to make this a priority for the Lodge. The Brothers should come together with renewed vigor to our Widows and orphans to mow a yard, fix a sink, give a ride, or just visit for a few hours. None of this will take too much out of our busy schedules. If you are interested, please let me know, we will be discussing it further after the Installation of Officers. Speaking of the Installation of Officers, scheduled for December 21 st, 2014. I would like to thank all of the Officers of 2014 who have faithfully dedicated time and energy to be at as many meetings and functions as possible. It s been a great year and we look forward to good things in 2015. By the Plumb, Brother Jack Cloud What are your Talents? Every one of us were born with a talent. Some are artistically creative, some mechanically inclined, others have the gift of gab and others are just really good listeners. Our talents make us both unique and valuable. So, what are your talents? The better question is, when was the last time you might have used one of your skills for the betterment of others? Sometimes it is so easy to accept your gift, but do little or nothing with it. Imagine, if all 246 of the brethren on our rolls today, were to use their skill just once for their brother, neighbor, community or their lodge, just imagine the impact that we could make. What if we mowed a yard for our less able brothers or their widow. volunteered to provide maintenance services to our less able brothers or their widows. lent an ear and provided companionship to one of our widows in need of a friendly visit. volunteered our talents to a Masonic program, such as; Reading to School Children, Volunteering for our Youth Groups, running the Child ID booth, and other event s that you feel suited for. used our talents just one time in the lodge to paint a mural or a room, to build a cabinet, or to perform maintenance on aging structural and mechanical items. stepped up to lead a lodge project or event. The moral of this story is as Masons, we share a moral obligation to volunteer our talents whenever possible for the betterment of others. If your talent can better your lodge, your community, or your fellow brother, then it will better you, not only in your outward appearance, but in the satisfaction you feel in your heart knowing that you stepped outside of your box to do something for others. Today, each brother of Welcome Lodge 255 should think of his talent and make a plan to use that talent within the next 30 days. As a military based lodge, we ve all had challenges in the past, and I challenge you all to this task. Help someone in need or volunteer for the betterment of your lodge. In doing so, you ll immediately feel the satisfaction that comes with it. Feel free to contact me anytime if you are interested in helping out in any way. I d love to hear your ideas. Bro.
