Words of Reflection: " Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live long and that it may go well with you in the land the Lord your God is giving you." Deuteronomy 5: 16 NIV Welcome: Prelude Organist/pianist Jeff Burke Call to Worship: Leader People: Leader: People: Leader: People: All: *Opening Hymn: Psalm 31 selected verses, adapted In you, O Lord, I have taken refuge; be my rock of refuge, a strong fortress to save me Since you are my rock and my fortress, for the sake of your name lead and guide me. I will be glad and rejoice in your love. I trust in you, O Lord; I say, "You are my God. My times are in your hands." Let your face shine on your servants; save us in your unfailing love. Praise be to the Lord, for he showed his wonderful love to us. Love the Lord, all his saints! The Lord preserves the faithful. Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord! "Praise, My Soul, the King of Heaven" Hymn # 66 Opening Prayer: The Prayer of Saint Francis # 481 Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace; where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood, as to understand; to be loved, as to love; for it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen. The Old Testament Lesson: The Old Testament Lesson: Exodus 1:8-2:10 Psalm 113 *Hymn "All Things Bright and Beautiful" Hymn # 147-2-
