And if the bugler doesn t sound a clear call, how will the soldiers know they are being called to battle? 1 st Corinthians 14:89 NLV FLM PRAYER STUDY #130 Relationship with Jesus Be still and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10 Time Magazine reports that the most important factor in the degree of happiness in a person s life is not material possessions or position or money but relationships. The most important thing in all of life for a Christian is to know Jesus and be in relationship with Him daily. What is Jesus to you?: Whatever you need! 1. A historical figure 2. Master 3. Friend 4. Brother 5. Father Kinds of Relationship with Jesus 1. Those who have head knowledge but never really enter into relationship with Jesus: Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out demons? And in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you; depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Matthew 7:22-23 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. But the wise answered, saying, Not so, lest there be not enough for us and you; but go rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage; and the door was shut. Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. But he answered and said,

Verily I say unto you, I KNOW YOU NOT. Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of man cometh. Matthew 25:6-13 2. Servant to Jesus: a. Servants minister to others. 1 st Corinthians 4:1 b. Servants are privy to the secret purposes of God. 1 st Corinthians 4:1 c. Servants patiently endure suffering. 2 nd Corinthians 6:4-8 d. Servants love even when talked about. 2 nd Corinthians 6:4-8 e. Servants speak the Word in the power of God. 2 nd Corinthians 6:4-8 f. Servants live righteous, holy lives. Romans 6:22-23 g. Servants don t seek praise or popularity with men but long for the Master s approval. Galatians 1:10 h. Servants are sealed by the Holy Spirit. Revelaton 19:5 i. Servants are marked by His name on their forehead. Revelation 22:3-4 j. Servants labor in prayer for others. Colossians 4:12 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son, and, if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. Galatians 4:7 From Paul, a bond servant of Jesus Christ (the Messiah) called to be an apostle, (a special messenger) set apart to [preach] the Gospel (good news) of and from God. Romans 1:1 AMP But now since you have been set free from sin and have become the slaves of God, you have your present reward in holiness and its end is eternal life. For the wages which sin pays is death, but the [bountiful] free gift of God is eternal life through (in union with) Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:22-23 AMP So then, let us [apostles] be looked upon as ministering servants of Christ and stewards (trustees) of the mysteries (the secret purposes) of God s. 1 st Corinthians 4:1 AMP But we commend ourselves in every way as [true] servants of God: through great endurance, in tribulation and suffering, in hardships and privations, in sore straits and calamities, in beatings, imprisonments, riots, labors, sleepless, watching, hunger; by innocence and purity, knowledge and

spiritual insight, longsuffering and patience, kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in unfeigned love; by [speaking]the word of truth, in the power of God, with the weapons of righteousness for the right hand [to attack] and for the left hand [to defend]; amid honor and dishonor; in defaming and evil report and in praise and good report. [We are branded] as deceivers (impostors) and [yet vindicated as] truthful and honest. 2 nd Corinthians 6:4-8 AMP For am I now trying to win the favor of men, or of God? Do I seek to please men? If I were still seeking popularity with men, I should not be a bond servant of Christ (the Messiah). Galatians 1:10 Epaphras, who is one of your number, a bondslave of Jesus Christ, sends you his greetings, always laboring earnestly for you in his prayers, that you may stand perfect and fully assured in all the will of God. Colossians 4:12 NAS And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God, and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. Revelation 7:2-3 And a voice came from the throne, saying, Give praise to our God, all you, His bond-servants, you who fear Him, the small and the great. Revelation 19:5 There will no longer be any curse and the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it [paradise]and His bond-servants will serve Him; they will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads. Revelation 22:3-4 3. Friendship with Jesus: a. Friends allow friends to get very close. Proverbs 18:26 b. A friend believes in his friend. James 2:23 c. A friend reverences his friend. Luke 12:4-5 d. Friends bless each other. Proverbs 29:4 and there is a friend who sticketh closer than a brother. Proverbs 18:26

Oh, for the days when I was in my prime, when God s intimate friendship blessed my house. Proverbs 29:4 NIV And so the Scripture was fulfilled that says, Abraham believed in(adhered to, trusted in, and relied on) God, and this was accounted to him as righteousness(as conformity to God s will in thought and deed), and he was called God s friend. James 2:23 I say unto you, My friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear; Fear Him, which after He hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear Him. Luke 12: 4-5 4. Brother/Sister relationship with Jesus: a. Brothers are of the same Father. Hebrews 2:11-12 b. Brothers worship the Father. Hebrews 2:11-12 c. Brothers are obedient and do what the Father tells them. Luke 8:21 d. Brothers look like the first born Son. Romans 8:29 e. Brothers worship the Father by denying self and being living sacrifices. Romans 12:1-2 For both He Who sanctifies [making men holy] and those who are sanctified all have one [Father]. For this reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren; for He says, I will declare Your [the Father s] name to My brethren; in the midst of the [worshiping] congregation I will sing hymns of praise to You. Hebrews 2:11-12 And He answered and said, My mother and brothers are these which hear the Word of God and do it. Luke 8:21 For those whom He foreknew [of whom He was aware and loved beforehand], He also destined from the beginning [foreordaining them] to be molded into the image of His Son [and share inwardly His likeness] that He might become the firstborn among many brethren. Romans 8:29 AMP Therefore, I urge you, brethren, in view of God s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God-this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform to the pattern of the world, but be transformed by

the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God s will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:1-2 NIV For this reason He had to be made like His brothers in every way, in order that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that He might make atonement for the sins of the people. Hebrews 2:17 NIV 5. Children of God: a. Children receive freely because they are trusting and innocent. Philippians 2:14-15 b. Children are pure and walk in the Divine Nature. 1 st John 3:11 c. Children can easily communicate with the Father because they know they belong to Him. 1 st John 2:28 d. Children love quickly and easily. Ephesians 5:1 e. Children don t grumble and complain or find fault but are very accepting of people that adults have a hard time accepting. Philippians 2:14-15 f. There is often a glow about children, especially young tots, because they have not been polluted by the world. 1 st John 5:21, Philippians 2:14-15 g. Children abide in the Father. 1 st John 2:28 h. Children progressively grow in knowledge of the Father. 1 st John 4:4-6 i. Children more easily recognize the Spirit of Truth and the spirit of error. 1 st John 4:4-6 j. Children have and keep Jesus as 1 st Place. 1 st John 5:2 Verily, I say unto you. Whosoever shall not receive the Kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein. Mark 10:15 And the disciples were astonished at His words. But Jesus answered again, and said unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the Kingdom of God. Mark 10:24 Neither can they[those who die in the Lord]die any more for they are equal unto the angels, and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection. Luke 20:36 Being then the children of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and thought of man. Acts 17:29

The Spirit Itself beareth a witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God. And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together. Romans 8:16-17 Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Ephesians 5:1 NIV Do all things without grumbling and faultfinding and complaining [against God] and questioning and doubting [among yourselves]. That you may show yourselves to be blameless and guileless, innocent and uncontaminated, children of God without blemish(faultless, unrebukable) in the midst of a crooked and wicked generation [spiritually perverted and perverse]. Among whom you are seen as bright lights (stars or beacons shining out clearly), in the [dark] world. Philippians 2:14-15 AMP [Live]as children of obedience [to God]; do not conform yourselves to the evil desires[that governed you] in your former ignorance [when you did not know the requirements of the Gospel. But as the One Who called you is holy, you yourselves also be holy in all your conduct and manner of living. 1 st Peter 1:14-15 AMP And now, little children, abide (live, remain permanently) in Him, so that when He is made visible, we may have and enjoy perfect confidence (boldness, assurance) and not be ashamed and shrink from Him at His coming. 1 st John 2:28 AMP No one born (begotten) of God [deliberately, knowingly, and habitually} practices sin, for God s nature abides in him [His principle of life, the divine sperm, remains permanently within him]: and he cannot practice sinning because he is born (begotten of God). By this it is made clear who take their nature from God and are His children: no one who does not practice righteousness [who does not conform to God s will in purpose, thought, and actions] is of God; neither is anyone who does not love his brother (his fellow believer in God). 1 st John 3:9-10 AMP By this it is made clear who take their nature from God and are His children and who take their nature from the devil and are his children; no one who

does not practice righteousness [who does not conform to God s will in purpose, thought, and action] is of God; neither is anyone who does not love his brother (his fellow believer in Christ.) 1 st John 3:11 AMP Little children, you are of God [you belong to Him] and have [already]defeated and overcome them [the agents of the anti-christ], because He Who lives in you is greater (mightier) than he who is in the world. They proceed from the world and are of the world; therefore it is out of the world [its whole economy morally considered] that they speak, and the world listens (pays attention) to them. We are [children] of God. Whoever is learning to know God [progressively to perceive, recognize, and understand God by observation and experience, and to get an ever-clearer knowledge of Him] listens to us; and he who is not of God does not listen or pay attention to us. By this we know (recognize) the Spirit of Truth and the spirit of error. 1 st John 4: 4-6 AMP Little children, keep yourselves from idols (false gods)-[from anything and everything that would occupy the place in your heart due to God, from any sort of substitute for Him that would take first place in your life]. Amen (so let it be). 1 st John 5:21 He came to that which belonged to Him [to His own-his domain, creation, things, world], and they who were His own did not receive Him and did not welcome Him. But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in(adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name. John 1:11-13 Sons of God: a. Sons of God don t love the world and the applause of men. 1 st John 3:1-2 b. Sons of God shine as lights and don t complain. Philippians 2:14-15 c. Sons of God walk in maturity and have put away childish things. 1 st Corinthians 13:11 d. Sons of God speak the truth in love. Ephesians 4:14-15 e. Sons of God are called to praise Him. 1 st Peter 2:9 f. Sons of God walk in obedience and love. Ephesians 5:1-6 g. Sons of God present themselves before the Lord. Job 1:6 h. Sons of God are joyful. Job 38:7 i. Sons of God are led by the Spirit. Romans 8:14

j. Sons of God tabernacle the living God and separate from the world. 2 nd Corinthians 6:14-18 k. Sons of God accept the chastening of the Lord. Hebrews 12:5-6 l. Sons of God walk in power. John 1:12 m. Sons of God are peacemakers. Matthew 5:9 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God; therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew Him not. 1 st John 3:1 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the sons of God. Matthew 5:9 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. Romans 8:14 AMP For [even the whole] creation (all nature) waits expectantly and longs earnestly for God s sons to be made known [waits for the revealing, the disclosing of their sonship.) Romans 8:19 And not only the creation, but we ourselves too who have and enjoy the firstfruits of the [Holy] Spirit [a foretaste of the blissful things to come] groan inwardly as we wait for the redemption of our bodies [from sensuality and the grave, which will reveal] our adoption (our manifestation as God s sons). Romans 8:23 AMP Therefore, you are no longer a slave (bond servant) but a son and if a son, then [it follows that you are] an heir by the aid of God through Christ. Galatians 4:7 For it was an act worthy [of God] and fitting [to the divine nature] that He, for Whose sake and by Whom all things have their existence, in bringing many sons into glory, should make the Pioneer of their salvation perfect [should bring to maturity the human experience necessary to be perfectly equipped for His office as High Priest] through suffering. Hebrews 2:10 AMP For the Lord corrects and disciplines everyone whom He loves and He punishes, even scourges, every son whom He accepts and welcomes to His heart and cherishes. You must submit to and endure [correction]for

discipline; God is dealing with you as with sons. For what son is there whom his father does not [thus]train and correct and discipline? Now if you are exempt from correction and left without discipline in which all [of God s children]share, then you are illegitimate offspring and not true sons [at all]. Hebrews 12:6-8 Why should we aspire to Sonship? (There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female; for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:28) 1. Sonship implies maturity: Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all, but is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father. Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world. But when the fullness of time was come, God sent forth His Son, made of a woman, made under the law, to redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because you are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying, Abba Father. Wherefore, thou art no more a servant but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. Galatians 4:1-7 And He gave some, apostles, and some, prophets, and some, evangelists, and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints for the work of the ministry for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come in the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men and cunning craftiness, by which they lie in wait to deceive, but speaking the truth in love may grow up into Him in all things, who is the head, even Christ. Ephesians 4:11-15 2. The Sons Company will make His enemies His footstool: The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. The LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion Psalm 110:1, Matthew 22:44, Hebrews 10:13) I believe the Manifested Sons of God are that rod of strength out of Zion. 3. The Manifested Sons of God signal the time for the return of Jesus for His bride, the Glorious Church: Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for it, that He might sanctify

and cleanse it with the washing of water by the Word; that He might present it to Himself, a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. Ephesians 5:25-27 ************************************************************* Holy Highway By Ginger Hendricks 1986 There s a road called the holy highway that once was a desert land. Very soon you ll hear the sound of a holy marching band. Everlasting joy upon them, there s a remnant strong and true. We bring the song back to Zion. We bring the praise back to You. We exalt You, God Almighty; You are worthy to be praised. Let all nations bow before You, holy Ancient of all days. There s a road called the holy highway where the people dance and shout, Where the enemy is running with confusion all about. Raise your banners, sing the victory; raise them high. His Word is true.
