Feb 0 20 Wed 20.02.0 Demonstrating the spiritual origin of man Wednesday Readings Luke :2 the angel, (to ;), 0 5 (to :) 2 0 2 4 5... the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David;... And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee:... Acts 0:8 God 8... God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. John :, 8, 0, 5, 2 7 8 And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay, And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing. The neighbours therefore, and they which before had seen him that he was blind, said, Is not this he that sat and begged? /8
0 5 Therefore said they unto him, How were thine eyes opened? Then again the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. He said unto them, He put clay upon mine eyes, and I washed, and do see. If this man were not of God, he could do nothing. I John :8 For this 8... For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. I John 4: (to,), many, (to :), 4 4 Beloved,...... many false prophets are gone out into the world. And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God:... Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Gal 5: (to,), (to ;) Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free,... For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty;... SH 25:2 The time cometh when the spiritual origin of man, the divine Science which ushered Jesus into human presence, will be understood and demonstrated. SH 54: The proof that the system stated in this book is Christianly scientific resides in the good this system accomplishes, for it cures on a divine demonstrable Principle 0 which all may understand. SH vii: 2 (to ;) Since the author's discovery of the might of Truth in the treatment of disease as well as of sin, her system has been fully tested and has not been found wanting;... SH x:5 7 5 By thousands of well-authenticated cases of healing, she and her students have proved the worth of her teachings. 2/8
SH 47:7 They were submitted to the broadest practical test, and everywhere, when honestly applied under circumstances where demonstration was hu- manly possible, this Science showed that Truth had lost none of its divine and healing efficacy, even though centuries had passed away since Jesus practised these rules 2 on the hills of Judæa and in the valleys of Galilee. SH :2 2 Jesus of Nazareth was the most scientific man that 24 ever trod the globe. He plunged beneath the material surface of things, and found the spiritual cause. Jesus the Scientist SH 70:22 Spiritual causation is the one question to be considered, for more than all others spiritual causation relates to 24 human progress. The age seems ready to approach this subject, to ponder somewhat the supremacy of Spirit, and at least to touch the hem of Truth's garment. Causation considered SH 547:25 2 0 The true theory of the universe, including man, is not in material history but in spiritual development. Inspired thought relinquishes a material, sensual, and mortal theory of the universe, and adopts the spiritual and immortal. It is this spiritual perception of Scripture, which lifts humanity out of disease and death and inspires faith. True theory of the universe SH 8:2 2 We must silence this lie of material sense with the truth of spiritual sense. SH 8:24 2 24 Jesus mapped out the path for others. He unveiled the Christ, the spiritual idea of divine Love. Material pleasures SH :2 2 Christ illustrates that blending with God, his divine Principle, which gives man /8
dominion over all the earth. SH : 22 He understood man, whose Life is God, to be immortal, and 2 knew that man has not two lives, one to be destroyed and the other to be made indestructible. SH 502:2 There is but one creator and one creation. This creation consists of the unfolding of spiritual ideas and their identities, which are embraced in the infinite Mind and forever reflected. These ideas range from the infinitesimal to infinity, and the highest ideas are the sons and daughters of God. SH 4: 2 In divine Science, the universe, including man, is spiritual, harmonious, and eternal. SH 02:4 8 let... let us remember that 5 harmonious and immortal man has existed forever, and is always beyond and above the mortal illusion of any life, substance, and intelligence as existent in matter. 8 Definition of man SH 228: 2 The humble Nazarene overthrew the supposition that sin, sickness, and death have power. He proved them powerless. Priestly pride humbled SH 428:22 2 The great spiritual fact must be brought out that man is, not shall be, perfect and immortal. SH 5:4 5 Man is God's reflection, needing no cultivation, but ever beautiful and complete. SH 475: 4 Man is idea, the image, of Love; he is not physique. 4/8
SH 47:4 5 In divine Science, God and the real man are inseparable as divine Principle and idea. SH 7:8 20 8 The understanding of his spiritual individuality makes man more real, more formidable in truth, and enables him to conquer sin, disease, and death. SH 0:0 4 Whatever reflects Mind, Life, Truth, and Love, is spiritually conceived and 2 brought forth; but the statement that man is conceived and evolved both spiritually and materially, or by both God and man, contradicts this eternal truth. SH 204:, 20 22 2 All forms of error support the false conclusions that there is more than one Life; that material history is as real and living as spiritual history; that mortal error is as conclusively mental as immortal Truth; and that there are two separate, antagonistic entities and beings, two powers, namely, Spirit and matter, resulting in a third person (mortal man) who carries out the delusions of sin, sickness, and death. When will the ages understand the Ego, and realize only one God, one Mind or intelligence? Spirit the only intelligence and substance Unscientific theories SH 205:7 When will the error of believing that there is life in matter, and that sin, sickness, and death are creations of God, be unmasked? SH 24:4 5 8 The universe, like man, is to be interpreted by Science from its divine Principle, God, and then it can be understood; but when explained on the basis of physical sense and represented as subject to growth, maturity, and decay, the universe, like man, is, and must continue to be, an enigma. Right interpretation SH 2: 2 5/8
2 In Science, you can have no power opposed to God, and the physical senses must give up their false testimony. The one real power SH 545: The notion 2 of a material universe is utterly opposed to the theory of man as evolved from Mind. SH 7:22 24 24 The visible universe and material man are the poor counterfeits of the invisible universe and spiritual man. True idea of man SH 52:2 0 The second chapter of Genesis contains a statement of this material view of God and the universe, a statement which is the exact opposite of scientific truth as before recorded. The history of error or matter, if veritable, would set aside the omnipotence of Spirit; but it is the false history in contradistinction to the true. The Science of the first record proves the falsity of the second. If one is true, the other is false, for they are antagonistic. The first record assigns all might and government to God, and endows man out of God's perfection and power. The second record chronicles man as mutable and mortal, as having broken away from Deity and as revolving in an orbit of his own. Existence, separate from divinity, Science explains as impossible. The story of error The two records SH 50:2 2 The history of error is a dream-narrative. The dream has no reality, no intelligence, no mind; therefore the dreamer and dream are one, for neither is true nor real. Scriptural allegory SH :5 In proportion as matter loses to human sense all entity as man, in that proportion does man become its master. He enters into a diviner sense of the facts, and comprehends the theology of Jesus as demonstrated in healing the sick, raising the dead, and walking over the wave. All these deeds manifested Jesus' control over the belief that matter is substance, Man s entity /8
2 that it can be the arbiter of life or the constructor of any form of existence. SH 4: 2 The belief that existence is contingent on matter must be met and mastered by Science, before Life can be understood 2 and harmony obtained. SH 22: 2 Cause does not exist in matter, in mortal mind, or in physical forms. SH 55:0 Divine Science deals its chief blow at the supposed material foundations of life and intelligence. SH : 0 Mortals can never understand God's creation while believing that man is a creator. God's children already created will be cognized only as man finds the truth of being. Thus it is that the real, ideal man appears in proportion as the false and material disappears. SH 20:7 24 8 2 24 The Science of Mind-healing shows it to be impossible for aught but Mind to testify truly or to exhibit the real status of man. Therefore the divine Principle of Science, reversing the testimony of the physical senses, reveals man as harmoniously existent in Truth, which is the only basis of health; and thus Science denies all disease, heals the sick, overthrows false evidence, and refutes materialistic logic. Health and the senses SH 47:2 22 2 Learn this, O mortal, and earnestly seek the spiritual status of man, which is outside of all material selfhood. SH :2 5 The scientific fact that man and the universe are evolved from Spirit, and so are spiritual, is as fixed in divine Science as is the proof that mortals gain the sense of health only as they lose the sense of sin and disease. 7/8
