The Pastor s Corner This Sunday is the Sunday of Divine Mercy. This Divine mercy is a great gift from God. How often do we trust in God and in his mercy? The point of seeking reconciliation is not that we send ourselves on a massive quilt trip. Rather it s so that we can truly come think of others more and of ourselves less. Our tendency is to become preoccupied with ourselves. Divine Mercy challenges us to think more of others, and of God. Today s Gospel tells the story of a man who is preoccupied with himself. The risen Jesus appeared to the others but not to him. The man reacted harshly. Unless I see the nail marks and put my finger into them, I will not believe! At least Thomas is an honest skeptic! However, still he is only thinking about himself. In spite of his self-preoccupation, Thomas sticks with the Apostles. That takes some humility! It was after that that Thomas received a great gift: mercy. At that moment, Jesus appeared a second time-this time to him! The Apostle Thomas brought Divine Mercy to distant places. He forgave sins! Today, we celebrate that Divine Mercy, and we pray that we will develop a greater heart of mercy for others. Peace and all Good! Fr. Aaron The Presence Radio Network Week of Sunday, April 3, 2016 Join us in Praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet Weekdays at 3:00pm or anytime on our website under Program Lineup Through St. Faustina, the Merciful Savior has given the aching world new channels for the outpouring of His grace. These new channels include: the Image of The Divine Mercy, Divine Mercy Sunday, the Chaplet, the Novena to The Divine Mercy, and prayer at 3 o clock in the afternoon, the Hour of Great Mercy. Although these means of receiving God s mercy are new in form, they all proclaim the timeless message of God s merciful love. They also draw us back to the great Sacrament of Mercy, the Holy Eucharist, where the living Lord, who suffered and died on the Cross and whose Heart was pierced with a lance, pours forth His mercy on all mankind, and grants pardon to all who draw near and honor Him.
