Karakanyo Omot, recipient of services from Wesley's Refugee Faith Care Team, became a United States citizen on September 6th. Congratulations, Karakanyo. Wesley Community Services distributes food donations through Neighborhood Alliance for Child Safety. Caseworkers are in homes in our neighborhood and see when there are food shortages. Recently they met a pregnant couple with two children that had no food in the house. Another family had to suddenly move out of their rental property and the dad missed several days of work in search of new housing. He got terminated but soon started a new job. In the meantime, they were short of food. Another family on a fixed income had their SNAP (food stamps) benefits terminated and needed support while they were re-applying. Yet another family was doubled up with friends and had limited income. Food help was needed. And the need continues.. Thank you, Wesley family, for bringing in food items to share with our neighbors. 4
