Consider the Following About the Word of God: Deliverance Is In His Word I. As Creator, God demonstrated His power to create by speaking a word. He designed us to speak in order to introduce power into our physical arena (esp. creative power). II. Tower of Babel - (see principle in Gen 11:6) - it s amazing how many biblical references there are to speaking attributed to some kind of power! (e.g. tower of Babel and tongues). III. God intended for us to physically speak what has been communicated by Him (agreement = confession). IV. The principle revelation of God to man was in the form of a Word. 20 Reasons the Word of God is Critically Important to Us: 1. Rom 10:8 Consider that the word is near you (on your lips, specifically God intended for us to speak the Word given by Him to us). 2. Rom 10:17 Faith comes (not previously exists, but develops) by hearing, so we need hearing. Hearing comes by the Word of God. You can only hear a word. The promises of God are received by faith (Gal 3:14) and faith is tied to the Word. 3. Gen 1:3 + Heb 11:3 - Word has creative power! Also the world was framed by the Word (Heb 11:3) so every physical frame is of Word Substance if you will. (We also only understand this through faith which is dependent on the Word). 4. Words are : a. Things you say (Mark 11:24) b. Things you confess (confession leading to salvation Rom 10:9) c. Things promised (2 Cor 1:20) d. Things decreed ( Job 22:27-28) e. Things you sing (Col 3:16 esp. for the choir) f. Things you pray (Luke 11:2) g. Expressions of the heart (Ps116:10) h. I/O/W words (hence, The Word ought to permeate our being) 5. Isa 55:11 Will not return void. They come from a place of established power and obviously will bring this realm into alignment with the realm of it s (The Word) origin without fail! (WOW)! 6. Releasing faith is done by the Word (2 Cor 4:13). The word is seed (Luke 8:11). 7. Psalm 103:20 Angels (e.g. protection, provision) respond to the Word! 8. Prov 18:21 + Matt 12:37 - Our words are a Matter of Life and Death and obviously ought to be in alignment with life. 9. Jos 1:8 - our success in any God-given assignment is dependent on the Word. 10. Eph 6:17 we are constantly entrenched in battle and the weapons of our warfare are not carnal. The spiritual weapon we ve been given is the Word.
11. Eph 5:26 + Jas 1:21 - Word is the agent we ve been given for cleansing. 12. John 3:16 + Ps 107:20 + Phil 2:7 - Being a tripartite creature, we need a connection point between earth and heaven (i.e. between the natural realm and the spiritual realm where our blessing, authority is). Jesus Christ is the connection point between us and heaven. Jesus Christ is the Word. So, God was illustrating for us that the Word is the connection point between our earthly situations and heavenly solutions. How do we transport ourselves into the spiritual arena by the Word: a. Speaking it b. Doing it c. Hearing it d. Believing it. Example is the temptation of Jesus in Matt 4. a. open show of (Col 2:15) b. Submit yourselves resist the devil and he ll flee (James 4:7) c. Demon speaking to Jesus ( what have you to do with us? Cast us into the swine )( Luke 4:34) what did Jesus use to destroy them? 14. The Word was made flesh (John 1:14) man could identify with the Word (therefore, his own words ) in a tangible sense authority. 15. John 15:7-8 the strength of our prayer effectiveness is based on the Word. (see also I John 5:14) 16. Matt 18:18 The Word has contractual implications from the courts of heaven. 17. Several critical issues from the book of Proverbs: (the Word therefore your words) a. The Word sets the atmosphere Prov 16:24 b. The Word determine your destiny Prov 21:23 18. Consider Luke 7:7 Just say the word and my servant shall be healed! 19. The Word is the only agent that can renew the mind (erase the old thought processes). Look at the following: i.
