A Man...A Father...A Hero... A Man : God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. As we can read from the Bible, God created Man as the last creature so that he can enjoy all the natural wealth that God has already made for him. and he made a woman to be the best companion for the rest of his life. a man was created to love and to be loved and honored for he is responsible for the happiness of the family in the same way God is responsible for the Happiness of the world. A Father : The Christian father is really an instrument in God's hand. For the husband is head of the wife, even as Christ is head of the church; and he is the savior of the body. A father s first responsibility is to acquaint his children with Scripture. The children always see dads as their role model.as the father is faithful in role modeling, the children will have a better chance to learn about God and that will put them in Good standing throughout their earthly lives, no matter what they do or where they go. A Hero : The Father's First responsibility is to build a strong base for his family. He works really hard to make a standard for his family so that his children can grow from a strong foundation and they can live their life with strong faith and great knowledge that they acquired form their father.there May be lots of super Heroes like Super Man, Spider Man, Bat man, Iron Man that the children see and enjoy...but Dads are the REAL HEROES for their children who shows what the life is like and helps them grow with confidence and good guidance. They are the light of the life...and children has a ready made roads for their happy journey... Honor to Our Fathers : We enjoy this earthly life because of our father's hard work and their lots of sacrifices. as the children grow they need to realize how they are ready to sacrifice their happiness for the sake of the children and his wife. A beautiful reading from Sirach 3: Listen to me your Father, O children, and act accordingly, that you may be kept in safety. For the Lord honored the Father above the children. Whoever Glorifies his father will have long life; and will be gladdened by his own children, and when he prays he will be heard. Honor your father by word and deed, that a blessing from him may come upon you. for a Father's Blessing Strengthens the houses of the children. Let's Thank our Dads Let's Honor the Fatherhood -Agnes Matilda UpComing Events " June 14th, 2014 (Father s Day Tamil Mass)" Time : 6.45pm" Church : St. Joseph's Church, " Address : 582 Hope Street, Mountain View, CA 94041
Father of Faithful As we celebrate Father s day this month I would like to write about our father of faith Abraham. We call him father of faith because in his every act he has shown his faith in God. As we read in the book of Genesis Abraham married Sarai and Sarai was childless because she was not able to conceive. In this situation God called Abraham. The Lord had said to Abram, Go from your country, your people and your father s household to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you. (Genesis 12:1-3). Abraham did not know to which country God is asking him to go, he did not know whether that country was good to live for him and his cattle but Abraham obeyed God and went as the Lord told to him. He had faith in the Lord because the Lord said and His word will not fail. He did not worry about the circumstances even though he had no children at this point he believed in the word of God and started moving towards the country God was going to give him. Now Abraham came to the Canaan the country God shown him and lived there. Isaac was born. Abraham was a hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him and the life was peaceful. Now God tested Abraham to make sure he was still relying on Him and his faith was not only in the theory but also in practical. So God said Take your son, your only son, whom you love Isaac and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you. Abraham should have been worried in his mind but his faith is stronger than his worries. He still believed God s word will not go in vain. So he made all arrangements for the burnt offering of Isaac. When they reached the place God had told him about, Abraham built an altar there and arranged the wood on it. He bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood. Then he reached out his hand and took the knife to slay his son. But the angel of the Lord called out to him from heaven, Abraham Abraham When God told Abraham that He was going to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah because of their sins Abraham was pleading God with his questions to save the cities. In Genesis chapter 18 Abraham argued with God not to destroy the righteous with the wicked. After many discounts, God agreed not to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah if there were ten righteous people. Unfortunately there were less than ten righteous people and the cities were destroyed. Abraham had such a close relationship with God but when God asked him to sacrifice his only son he did not argue with God. He was very concerned over the people of Sodom and Gomorrah but he was least concerned about himself and his son. In a world where we worry about ourselves and our future Abraham never worried about them. He did not even ask one question to God on this matter or to reconsider His decision. What is it showing us? He had that much faith in God s word because God told him I will make you into a great nation and that is the reason we are calling him father of faith. His faith was expressed in his actions and God was very pleased in it because he passed the test conducted by God. While we celebrate father s day let s remember our father of faith and pray to him to give us courage and strength to express our faith in our actions so that we may pass in first class on the tests conducted by God in our lives. Wish you all a very happy father s day Leenus Rich
