From The President Change A wise man once said the only one who likes change is a baby. As was announced last month, our last meeting at the Sammons Center will be in August due to construction. Your Board has diligently searched for a temporary space. We had settled on the Temple Library; but what appears like a better deal has come along. It is the new Goodwill facility in Belton at 2601 Commerce St (the corner of Commerce and Sparta Rd about half way between HEB & Belton High). Our first meeting in the Goodwill s learning center will be Monday September 12, 2016 as Labor Day is on the first Monday of September. New times effective with the September meeting are as follows: 6:00 pm New member applications and NRA membership. 6:45 pm New membership closes. 7:00 pm Club meeting. Monthly Membership: Membership in the Temple Gun Club is open on a monthly basis. Dues will be prorated through August 1st, our normal membership renewal date. Based on the current dues rate the monthly dues to next August are: November $100 December $90 January $80 February $70 March $60 April $50 May $40 June $30 July $20 The initiation fee remains at $25 and NRA membership is required and available. Applications will be accepted from 6:45 pm to 7:15 pm immediately before each monthly meeting. Contact your friends and acquaintances who are responsible gun owners about joining our club and bring or send them early to the meetings. Programs We are continuing to build a series of interesting and educational programs for our club. We would like very much to touch upon your area of interest and you can help us do that by submitting your ideas and suggestions. Please submit them to myself at dick@usdwinells.com or bryancasinger@aol.com. Future programs are as follows: June Front Sight Firearms Training Institute. Bring the ladies! July Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) part 1 August Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) part 2 September Goodwill. This is not your father s Goodwill. October New members. Voting 2016 is a very important election year for gun owners. Please study the candidates to insure you vote for one who is pro Second Amendment vs one who would choose to control your purchase or ownership of firearms. If you are not sure where the candidate stands, I ve found that you can always look at the planks in the party platform for information on any issue. Smart candidates will not always tell you where they stand on key issues. But the party they are associated with will give you a good indication. God Bless Dick
