the Knight s Herald John F. Kennedy Council 2952 Hammond, LA January, 2018 Grand Knight s Corner I hope everyone had a wonderful and joyous holiday season. With the arrival of the new year, let us make new resolutions and resolve to keep them. I mean, REALLY resolve to keep them. Take an active role in your council and help make our community a better place for our families and friends by setting the example for other organizations in performing charitable and civic duties. For example, I want to thank all the Brother Knights and Ladies who helped make the 19 th Annual Benefit Raffle and Steak Dinner a success. We were, again, able to make a significant contribution to four local charitable organizations. Let s start off the new year right and show support for our council by attending your monthly KC Mass. Showing support in numbers is a great way to help, and better yet, attending the KC Mass and sitting with your family and friends in the designated seating area lets the community know who we are. Let us all wear our name tags as we proudly proclaim ourselves Knights of Columbus. I want to personally thank Betty Mueller and her daughter Pam for their generous donation of $8500 to the council s educational fund. The fund, which is named the Don Mueller Educational Fund, is used to provide scholarships for children and grandchildren of council members of JFK Council 2952. Congratulations to Chip & Elsa Blessey for being selected Family of the Month for December. The Knight of the Month was not present at the social due to prior commitments and will be announced later. A couple of dates to remember for this month are the KC Social, which will be on Wednesday, Jan. 17 th, and the KC Mass on Sunday, Jan. 21 st. Please remember to arrive at 8:45am before the Mass for the recitation of the rosary. The Ladies Corner Ladies, I m sorry I missed the Christmas social, but I heard it was wonderful, as usual! The Lady of the Month for December will be announced at the January social. Please come to our meeting on January 3 rd. We will pray the rosary at 5:45pm, right after the Pro-Life rally from 4:00-5:00pm and sharing a meal with the Knights (thanks, Mike and the kitchen crew, for always including us). The business meeting will begin at 6:00pm. I want to remind everyone that your $10 dues are due by the end of the year. If you haven t paid yet, please bring it to the meeting. May you have a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year! Debbie Quebedeaux Best wishes for a Happy New Year! Mike Pearson
