COMMISSION I have known this couple for several years now and have grown to love them in the Lord. The two of them have been an asset to our church in many ways. Both Jacob and Jamie are gifted musically and have enhanced our music program with their talents. They have also been involved in our youth department as musicians and counselors. It has been said that if a person won t serve the Lord and serve Him well here in their local church then they probably won t when they reach their field of service either. This will not be a concern with Jacob and Jamie as they have been very effective in their service here in the church. I can, with no hesitation at all, highly recommend this couple to you and your mission program. I am a pastor who spent 16 years on a foreign field myself and can say that it would have been a joy for me to have had this couple by my side doing the work of the Lord. Rev. CALL With his dad being a pastor, Jacob heard the gospel early. At the age of five he was led to Christ by his dad. At the age of eighteen, Jacob surrendered his life to follow God in the area of missions. He furthered his education and received a B.A. in Missions in 2005. Through a New Zealand missionary presentation in 2006, God gave Jacob a burden for the people of this country. In 2008, Jacob went on a three month survey trip to New Zealand where God confirmed his burden. Being unmarried, he planned to return to New Zealand as a single missionary. Three days after his arrival back into the states, Jacob met Jamie at his church's missions conference. They were married in 2009. Jamie grew up going to church on a regular basis. She trusted Jesus Christ as her Savior at a young age. God used a mission trip to Chile, South America, to burden Jamie's heart for missions. She surrendered to the call of missions in her third year of Bible College. Shortly thereafter, God brought Jacob into her life. Jacob was already surrendered to the mission field and was planning to serve God in New Zealand. Jamie, being surrendered also, was willing to follow. In 2011, she completed her undergraduate studies with a Bachelor s Degree in Biblical Studies with a Missions track. CONCERN Our goal is to develop relationships with Kiwis, see them trust Christ, and establish indigenous Baptist churches as a team. The common New Zealand motto, No worries applies also to the spiritual realm. 33% No Religious Affiliation 50% Christian Label; not involved 1% Gospel Teaching Being settled by Britain in the 1800 s, and one of the world s youngest countries, New Zealand is familiar with Christian missionaries. Christianity was the dominant formal religion for more than a century, but now is in decline brought on by lack of solid Bible teaching, church attendance and a secularized society. Today 80% of New Zealand s population are of European descent bringing moral and religious relativism and creating a post-christian era with devastating effects.
