January 20, 2019 "Vision" - #2 Pastor Charles Mendenhall As review of the last weeks teaching we will continue with the same foundational scripture. We think of January as a new beginning, many times we make resolutions that we plan to keep, but sometimes they are put aside. But it will be beneficial to continue and don't quit. The following scripture is a truth that we should take heed to. Don't be remembering the things of the past, but move on into the future. Things that happened in the past will not necessarily happen the same way now, when God is getting ready to do a new thing in each of our lives, we see that the majority of the believers are not really looking or anticipating that something may be getting ready to happen. God is going to make a way for us when there doesn't seem to be any way for something new to happen. God is going to provide wherever we might be in our walk with Him, regardless of what we are trying to do, the challenges we may be having and whatever our need may be. God will turn a curse into a blessing. Isa 43:18-19 "Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. 19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert." KJV Deut 23:5 "Nevertheless the Lord thy God would not hearken unto Balaam; but the Lord thy God turned the curse into a blessing unto thee, because the Lord thy God loved thee." KJV Shared about a mistake during a flight in his plane and how forgetting to put down the landing gear had made a rough landing, upon surveying the damage, realized that because the plane was due for an annual, that the insurance would be paying for the damage. God had turned the mishap around and turned it into a blessing, even though his focus had been drawn away from what he should have been doing, God blessed him.

Two prophecies that were given by Smith Wigglesworth in 1939 and 1947 were also shared. He was an uneducated man, self taught in his profession to be a plumber, taught himself how to read, reading only the Bible and had a large ministry. He was well known in England. In 1939, World War 2 was about to happen, and he was speaking to Lester Sumerall, a friend of his. He began to say "I see it, I see it and Sumerall ask what it was that he was seeing, he continued "I see a healing revival coming right after WW2 and it will be so easy to get people healed, I see it, I see it, I see another one, people of different denominations being filled with the Holy Spirit, I see another move of God with auditoriums of people coming with notebooks, there will be wave of faith and healing, then he prophecied there will be third wave and he began to cry, I see the last day revival that is going to usher in the precious fruit of the earth, it will be greatest revival that this world has ever seen, it will be a wave of the gifts of the spirit, the ministry gifts will operate in their full gifting and anointing and there will flowing here on this planet earth. I see hospitals being emptied out and they will bring the sick to churches were they are allowed to do so and where they allow the Holy Ghost to move." In 1947 He spoke again, "During the next few decades, there will two distinct moves of the Holy Ghost across Great Britain (this is where he was at) and the earth, the first move will effect every church that is open to receive it and will be characterized by restoration of the baptism of the Holy Ghost as on the day of Pentecost and the gifts of the Holy Ghost, the second move of the Holy Ghost will result in people leaving historic churches and planting new churches, in the duration of each of these moves the people who are involved will say 'this is the great revival' but the Lord says "NO", neither is this the great revival, but both are steps toward it. The word in the spirit says when the new church phase is on the way, there will be evidence in the churches, something that has not been seen before, there will a coming together of those with an emphasis on the word and those with an emphasis on the spirit. When the word and the spirit come together there will be the biggest movement of the Holy Spirit that this nation and the world have ever seen. It will mark the beginning of a revival that will eclipse anything that has ever been witnessed before or in former years, the outpouring of Gods spirit will flow from the United Kingdom to the mainland of Europe and there across the different nations of the world and it will begin a missionary move to the ends of the earth and will usher in the coming of the

Lord." These two prophecies have been given to us to emphasis the word that was spoken in Isaiah 43:18-19. God is going to do a new thing and it is possible that we are on the very edge of that happening in the body of Christ and we just can't hold on to the old, we build on the old, but we go to the season that God is moving in now. We are beginning to see people coming out of the historic churches and are beginning to plant new independent churches, the reason that they are coming out of the historic churches, is many are apposed to the baptism of the Holy Spirit and spiritual gifts, they have come out in order to be a part of that. Now, we are faced with the question are we going to be open to the movement of the Holy Spirit in relationship to the word of God. He is going to do a new thing, many will be willing, but there are a number of pastors that won't have anything to do with it, they are putting limits to the people in their churches to the move of the Holy Spirit. God is going to move now where it won't only be the word by itself, but by the Holy Spirit and demonstration and power. Probably this year is a marked year for signs and wonders not to just be in our individual lives but to be in the church. We may be marveling at what God is doing, a year of surprises from God, working behind the scenes. Let's not put God in a box and say that this is the way He did it yesterday so He has to do it the same way today. God never has changed, but we have yet to tap the fullness of His infinite love, it's mercy, grace and His wisdom and the demonstration of the power of the Holy Spirit. He is going to do a new thing, making a way before us. Many believers have seen the things mentioned above at different times in their lives, the healing ministry that swept the country, the charismatic ministry and the faith and healing ministries that have happened over the years, all over this country and the world. Pro 29:18 "Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the *law, happy is he." KJV * doer's of the word are blessed, perish they pass to an inferior condition become average Pro 29:18 "When people do not accept divine guidance, they run wild. But whoever obeys the law

is joyful." NLT Pro 29:18 "When there is no prophetic vision the people *cast off restraint, but the one who keeps the law, blessed is he!" NET * cast off restraint, no discipline they run wild, they have no boundaries, never renew their mind. It is not challenging to have a dream or vision, kind of a normal thing, but just living life and dealing with other people, the challenge may come then from keeping the vision alive and walking it out and seeing the fruit of it. Satan loves to try to assassinate the dreams that people have, our dreams are; our purpose and our destiny. He works hard to discourage believers in order that they won't fulfill those dreams. We must have discipline in our lives, renewing our minds with the word if we are going to see those dreams come to fulfillment. Our dream is our map or guideline that is going to bring us to our destination. When writing down our vision, there may be more than one point to the vision that we have. Different people have different visions and they can be handled in various ways, listing them in some sort of order or listing them lumped together. There will probably be organization to what is written down on each of our lists. Depending what our priorities are, it will depend of how they are listed. What are our priorities? Has God changed? God is always first on our priority list, then our spouse or familities and other things may follow and our job is probably listed in the other things. Job is not be to first or second but further down, job is important but not first. Jobs may change with different seasons of our lives. Many times the job becomes priority number one, this shouldn't be. Our focus must be on God, He is first, don't let your focus be lead someplace else. The devil will try to show us another way, breaking our focus on the Lord. Hab 2:2 "And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the **vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it." KJV **vision-without vision people perish, vision is always related to how well you see or if we are even seeing, imagine and prepare for the future, ability to imagine or dream, the act of power of perceiving invisible objects as clearly as clearly as they are visible. vision always to do with seeing. vision gives energy to pursue Paul is teaching in the following scriptures, he also is in prison but makes the statement that he has not reached the purpose that Jesus has called for him to fulfill, but he wants to discover what it is. He knows what lack is and he knows what an

over abundance is. He was trained to overcome all things. Unless we are running with passion we won't fulfill the purpose that Jesus wants for us, we can't quit because He has an amazing supply for us, has something He wants us to discover, something new, we won't be doing it in our own strength but we do have a compelling focus, we forget the past and fasten our hearts to the future. We will find that God has gifted us with abilities we didn't realize that we were capable of doing, in order to fulfill our destination. We find that we have Christ's explosive power working in us regardless of what the difficulties might be. Phil 3:12-13 "I admit that I haven t yet acquired the absolute fullness that I m pursuing, but I run with passion into his abundance so that I may reach the purpose that Jesus Christ has called me to fulfill and wants me to discover. 13 I don t depend on my own strength to accomplish this; however I do have one compelling focus: I forget all of the past as I fasten my heart to the future instead." TPT Phil 4:12-13 "I know what it means to lack, and I know what it means to experience overwhelming abundance. For I m trained in the secret of overcoming all things, whether in fullness or in hunger. And I find that the strength of Christ s explosive power infuses me to conquer every difficulty" TPT It is important that we keep our focus, forgetting the past and looking to the future. Heb 12:1 " As for us, we have all of these great witnesses who encircle us like clouds. So we must let go of every wound that has pierced us and the sin we so easily fall into. Then we will be able to run life s marathon race with passion and determination, for the path has been already marked out before us" TPT Not looking back but running the race with passion and determination. Letting go of the past, every wound that has pierced us, all the hurt and disappointments that we have gone through. Let it go, forgiving all those who hurt and tried to keep us from reaching our destination. God loves us, He isn't mad at us, we can never be good enough to receive His love, He is for us and not against us. We are running with passion to receive what you have for us and staying focused!!!
