Believe me this is no small task..getting church members to commit to attending their own church is becoming more difficult in today s fast paced society. However, I still believe that it is important and that the C h u r c h s t i l l works...despite what the statistics show today. We are gearing up for a wonderful church year and I hope you will make plans to join us! The first item i s a l w a y s o u r Youth/Children s Back to School party to kickoff the Youth/Children s ministries for the Fall season. Look for details how you can be involved in this upcoming event. Also, I found this article from Dr. Thom Rainer that I wanted to share with you. Dr. Rainer is an American writer, researcher, speaker, and current president and CEO of LifeWay Christian Resourses, an entity of the Southern Baptist Convention in Nashville, Tennessee. He gives four really good reasons to commit to corporate worship for revival in our Southern Baptist Churches. Please consider them as you seek the Lord s blessings for the upcoming Church year. I Will Commit to Corporate Worship by Dr. Thom Rainer Corporate Worship is a united group assembled for a greater good to worship God together. 1) I will attend worship services. When we do something it becomes our priority. See what happens in your Church when sports entertainment and vacations have a lower priority than corporate worship. 2) I will pray before I attend worship services. I will pray that God will speak to me in the service. I will pray that my family will not have conflicts and get frustrated before we attend together. 3) I will pray as I enter the Sanctuary. I pray that unbelievers will hear the Gospel and that the Holy Spirit will convict them of their sin and their need for the Savior. I will pray for my attitude and heart as I worship and I will pray that all distractions will be removed so that all in attendance can focus on God. 4) I will pray that I will be a worshipper instead of a judge. Worship should not be judged as an Olympic event giving the pastor a 7 for the sermon, the choir an 8 for the music and our fellow worshipper a 2 because they were sitting in my seat this morning. My focus will be on God not on the people around me. I want to be part of a corporate worship revolution and make it a priority in my life, not an optional activity!!! I will worship with others!!! Let s start the new Church year off right by not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together: Heb. 10:25 and coming to corporate worship with our brothers and sisters in Christ. Blessings, Todd

Some are starting school for the first time, or moving to a new grade. Some are going into Junior High, High School and even college. It is a sign that Summer is coming to an end. With the hurry up shopping for clothes, school supplies, getting the right back pack, shoes, or clothes. People also try to squeeze in that last vacation. While all of that is important and fun, we must not forget about the Deacon Election Sunday, August 13, 2017 Please be much in prayer as to whom God would have serve. Sunday, August 27th Micro-Pine Level Elementary 2:00 pm main thing our children will need and that s the Lord our God and Savior. Without God in their heart we are sending them into a school year of doubt, trouble, and sin. So we must remember children are an important and valuable part of God s Kingdom as well. They can also be a strong voice for God to the ones that they go to school with that do not know him. So while in a hurry to end the summer with a vacation or shopping, let s not forget to keep showing them the love of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Thank You! Pastor Todd and the Members of Pine Level Missionary Baptist Church, Thank you so much for the White Hydrangea Mom s grand daughter will watch it grow for years to come. Thank you for letting the family enjoy the wonderful home cooking after the service as well! We really appreciate all that was done to celebrate Mom s full life. We will be sending a donation in the near future. Your Kind expression of sympathy is deeply appreciated and gratefully acknowledged by the family of Doris Brown Willets Ann and George Matthew 19:14 tells us Jesus said, Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them. For the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these. So remember to read the Word to them, guide them, and most importantly pray for them. The deacon board will also be in prayer for not only the children but also the parents as they enter this time of year. Please contact your deacon, the deacon of the month or pastor if there are any prayer needs. God Bless you and everyone you meet. Brian Murray Deacon of the Month Deacon/Spouse Dinner Thursday, August 17 Robins Nest in Selma 6:30 pm This special dinner meeting is in place of the regular monthly meeting for August. August will be a busy month for our WMU. We will be spearheading the American Red Cross Bloodmobile that will be at our church on Friday, August 4th from 2-6:30 pm. By the time you read this, the pre Bloodmobile work has already been done and hopefully we will have a good turnout. Our goal is 47 people donating their pint of blood. Hopefully, we will meet that goal. Beginning the last Sunday, in July, we will begin collecting school supplies for students at Pine Level Elementary. A list of items requested by the staff will be on the bulle- tin board. A box will be below the bulletin board to put the items you have purchased. The last day to contribute will be Sunday, August 20th. WMU meetings will resume on Tuesday evening, August 8th. It will be held in the Lucille Oliver Sunday School class. The meeting will start at 7 pm and last one hour. Please come!! Let s jump right in and get things rolling for the upcoming year!! Snacks will be served as well as a few door prizes. We are looking for ladies who love the Lord and love helping others! Normally, several of our church ladies and men lend a hand and help provide some items and help serve lunch to the staff at Pine Level Elementary. More information will be coming. Many thanks to every single person who has helped our WMU this past year. So many things were accomplished! Lives were touched by your prayers, your physical help, items you donated, your monetary donations and every other thing you did to help the least of these. Looking forward to what we can do this year! May God bless you and everyone you love.
